View Full Version : Another SMT convert!
Hairbear March 23rd, 2006, 10:29 PM Wow, that's all I can say!
I was a little sceptical about the benefits of putting honey on my hair, but decided to give it a go last night.
I woke up this morning with silky smooth hair. My frizzies are a little better.
I need to be careful, I might get addicted to this.
Love Long Hair March 24th, 2006, 02:26 AM hehehe wonderful isn't it!!!
Curlsgirl March 24th, 2006, 02:54 AM I used it last night as well and put a little MORE honey than usual. I was just experimenting. I went to bed with my hair damp and when my DH kissed me goodbye this morning, he said, "Ohhh, your hair is so SOFT!" :cloud9: :inlove: :cloud9:
justgreen March 24th, 2006, 03:39 AM It's quite all right to get addicted to SMT! It is one of the most beneficial treatments you can give your hair regularly.
I used it every time I washed my hair for two months, after finding LHC. Now I use it about 3 or 4 times a month. I keep a batch mixed and just use it cold.
yogabiene March 24th, 2006, 05:52 AM I SMT'd for the first time before my last wash and I have also been meaning to say that I was very pleasantly surprised! I will never add egg again as I did with my first try as that messed up my hair but normal SMT seems to be wonderful! Thankyou from me too!
ShanaMaidela March 26th, 2006, 03:55 AM Would somebody please tell me what an SMT treatment is? :flowers:
I tried a search but came up empty. It didn't find this thread either.

No, for some starnge reason it doesn't.
Try searching on Snowy's Moisture Treatment.
It's basically 4 parts conditioner to one part honey and one part Aloe gel(don't use the green stuff though).
I did the CW part of a CWC wash(ie conditioner on ends and shampoo scalp) then left the SMT on for an hour under a plastic cap. Rinse and air dry, gives lovely smooth hair.
DEE_56652 March 26th, 2006, 04:35 AM it is the best! i have nice hot cup of tea and let it all soak in. ahh relaxing.
Carolyn March 26th, 2006, 05:25 AM I keep a batch mixed and just use it cold. Justgreen, I do the same thing. It gets so runny if I nuke it. I like using it cold and then sitting under the heat cap.
Hairbear, it's OK to get addicted
SMT the LHC "drug" of choice :rollin:
Qwerty Uiop March 26th, 2006, 09:08 AM I leave it in overnight and generally mix up "too much" for just one wash cycle.
Since I pretty much never use my deep conditioner without the honey and aloe, I'm thinking about mixing up the whole bottle, which would last the three of us (me, longhaired dd, and ds at the "Napoleon Dynamite" stage of growing out a buzz cut) for several months.
Has anyone done this before? We're using Giovanni from the bulk aisle. I haven't had any problems leaving it unrefrigerated in the bathroom yet, but this would be fairly extreme even for me. The manchild can be a bit scatterbrained about hair care so this would make things so much easier for him.
As far as getting addicted, go ahead! You can't overdo this one. :D
zule March 26th, 2006, 09:23 AM Qwerty, I left my Giovanni out without problems. I don't know how long it could be left out, but I used up a large bottle in about six months and it was fine.
Love My Cop March 26th, 2006, 10:44 AM Hello evryone,
Cans someone please tell me where I can buy the Aloe to use in SMT? I went to Walmart, but the one I saw was for burns. I really wanted to try this today and see what the rave is. I deseparately need help for my hair.
Thanks Everyone !
LMC
oldkathy March 26th, 2006, 12:50 PM LoveMyCop, I understand that it can be found in the cosmetic section, not the medicine section. I just used natural gel from my aloe plants. It is a bit messy squeezing out the gel, but seems to work the same way.

Thank you HairBear! I didn't realize SMT stood for Snowymoon treatment. I have seen those threads. Thanks! :flower:
waldron32282 March 26th, 2006, 05:54 PM I found the pure aloe gel, called Fruit of the Earth at Wal-mart for around 4 bucks. It was located in the cosmetics department, right beside lotions and facial cleansers.
