View Full Version : Oh where, oh where can a girl get pretty hair toys in bulk?

Lately I've considered selling a few hair toys
during our off-garden season, but I am so very tired of
searching to no avail.

I've looked all over the internet for a wholesale source
of nice hair toys much like these I just won on Ebay.

http://www.wuvie.net/iwon.jpg

I don't want junky stuff, but I don't want high
dollar gold plated stuff, either.

Does anyone know where I might find a source for
things like this, or even a local source where I can purchase
them for my own hair goody basket?
A visit to Claire's found NOTHING but the teeny weeny
itsy bitsy claws, all butterflies. All tiny.

I just paid over eighteen dollars in shipping charges to
get some from Hong Kong, and I know there is a better
source out there somewhere.

:D

Hiya KarenM - I just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying all your posts (I really enjoyed the eating bon bons and having toe nails painted:DD)- I've been to busy posting fast and posting often :D

Yikes on the $18 - but dayam - those are soooo worth it. You WILL post some pictures when the mood strikes, right ?

I do not know of a place for bulk - but I do sometimes think the way with these things is to make your own...g

I think so too gabi, and I've found a site with really pretty beads for a good price (I think) at http://www.aspenhotglass.com/production/main.htm Actually, I think someone else posted about this company, or I clicked off it to find this.

Those beads are gorgeous! I'd love to have some just to play with.

Then of course you always have http://www.firemountaingems.com. They sell some bone hairsticks and some metal hairforks, but I've seen some of those listed on eBay already. The bone ones have holes in the top attach your own artistic creation. ;)

I really think do-it-yourself is probably going to be the way to go KM. I'm kinda thinking along the same line of thought, making wooden hair toys and combs from Alaskan Quakin' Aspen (a decent hardwood from what I read) decorated with wholesale gems like those from firemountain. I want to integrate as much 'natural Alaskan' as possible, firstly to enforce 'Alaskan Grown' and secondly because it markets very well. Unfortunatley the project seems time consuming, so I will have to get some other important things out of the way first. If you do decide to make your own let us know! I'm sure no-one here could resist an 'Accolady Original' :D I know I couldn't :)

I don't think your going to find quality finished toys in bulk for a reasonable price, unless you could value-add to what you do find.

Good luck to you!

.

Thank you all, ladies.

I'm not as interested in making them as
I am finding a wholesale source for higher class
what you might call costume, perhaps?

I am looking for the barrettes with crystals
and stones, fancy things with shimmer and shine,
things like that.

I'll see if I can find a wholesale catalog somehwere or
maybe one of the Ebay sellers may slip and give their
source, LOL

Thanks for your replies.
