Mine is an old metal hairstick from Express in 1994 or so.

I think it must be steel, because it is nigh on invulnerable. I have taken it to France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Greece... I have worn it through high school, college and the "real world"... I used it to hold up my bun for my Rehearsal Dinner. If I ever lose it, I will cry like a child! It is plain, simple, strong, perfectly straight and smooth. If someone ever invents a cloning machine, I will be standing in line, holding this hair stick.

I'm really liking the cheap ones lately. I have a funky clip that was only $2, I bought two in case one breaks, I can't remember who makes it now, I think it's scrunchi brand? It's a wide clip, with plastic all around, in a tortoise shell plastic color and it has two hinges on it.. that help it fit to just about any thickness. And I've been wearing my Karina plastic hair pins A LOT lately. They really hold well and so cheap too! I like that I can't see them in my hair.

The sock/stocking I use to tir my hair with?!

I know not much toy about it but and it is highly replaceable and I wouldn't cry if it was lost...but would get mad if I ever run out of socks! :mrgreen:

I really dont have a favorite hairtoy just now...it is winter and hat-weather=no updoes.

I guess mine would be...the two packs of the little covered elastics in every color they make (Brights and Neutrals) to tie off my braid. :) I like to match my t-shirt.

I love my MeiFa styx, but I just wear them around the house in a braided bun... :rolleyes: I've also got a hairglove, but it's too long or not long enough or something. It feels like a club on the back of my head.

I think it is the Scandinavian silver slide I bought recently when CELIAB told us about her vacation. This slide is unusual, silver, heavy, and smooth. It makes me feel so special wearing it and yet it isn't so very fancy that I feel like I can wear it anytime anywhere.

my antique tortoise shell hair fork. It's the gentlest on my hair and it holds all day without being too tight...love it!!!!

Thank goodness there are 2 that came as a set. I only need 1 to hold up my hair...so I have a spare...just in case ;)

Although, I have a Karina ponytail holder/barrette I like a lot, too -- the kind where the ponytail elastic hooks across the back of the barrette, where the metal clasp would be.

I would have to say my Egyptian silver Ficcare innovation. It's pretty but not too fancy so you can wear it with just about anything.

I vote for my little vase full of Maiden's Treasure's hairsticks. They're unique and beautiful, and no one else will have the same sticks as I do. They make any hairdo or outfit just a little dressier, just a little classier.

Coming in second would be my little antique-look french barrette from Victorian Trading Company. It's a small, brass-toned barrette with 3 or 4 bluebirds.

If I were to vote for the always works, never fails hair accessory, it would have to be the pack of plastic hairpins Karen Marie sent me. Whenever all else fails, a bun with these pins will always work.

Would you believe a smallish metal barrette, the type where the bottom slips sideways under the top. You would be amazed at all the things you can do with a barrette.

My MeiFa hairsticks are my favorite of the moment

Right now I like my Greydog "Forest" hairstick a lot. It has so many colors that it goes with most everything, it is supersmooth, and it sticks out maybe an inch to an inch and a half on each side of my bun.
I also have some gorgeous Maiden's Treasures hairsticks made with blue goldstone and silver. They look just like a starry midnight sky!

My favorite right now is a cheap, wildly, mostly-pink, striped plastic single hair stick (still can't find the other since switching purses!). It's shorter than the average hair stick, so it doesn't overwhelm the size of my piddly bun, but I don't feel like I'll poke someone's eye out! :D

I think I'd toss it away in a minute for a vintage Spanish-style comb or one of those Scandinavian beauties!

Oh yes...........BUT.......I live in fear that my hair will all of the sudden be too long one day for me to be able to get the hairsticks to hold my hair up. That's what's happened with buns! :( :(

i dont have one in particualar. but i have a type. thgat would be my scrunchies. im yet to find my perfect bit. my toys are all cheep and tacky so they brake easy.

Favorite would be Chop sticks- pretty simple and easy to use

A bone hair stick- white..(bonewhite) with viking ornaments at the top.

My little baby Ketylo hair stick. It is so light and strong and just the right size :cloud9: , and I know I can buy more in a lot of places if I lose it!

Ugh hard one...

For everyday, my flexi8. I can wear my hair sorta down, by pulling it back in a low pony tail with this, but it won't be in my face. Using a hair tie made my hair tangly since you have to flip it through. This just slides on and off.

I love all my hair toys!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in love with my yummy new Baerreis hair fork. So smooth and the wood is the perfect color for my hair. I just love the look of hair forks more than any other toys.

I have a cheapie barette with a French closure that I bought from Wal-Mart that I use the most. I do a half-up with it whenever I want to look a little more fancy.

My ABSOLUTE favorite, though, would be my black bow hairclip with an attached black bun cover. I can use it with a doubled-over pony tail, and it's good for work because it keeps my hair up and protected.

Sorry, I just can't make up my mind, no way! I love my new ficcare maximas, but I also love my chinese silver hair slides and my flexis. There's really not one single one that I prefer to the others.
