LisaJaney February 26th, 2003, 07:34 AM tlcpizza on eBay. We own a pizza biz, hence the name...... I bid on books and hairtoys, primarily, but if you see me bidding on obstetric forceps or something, please don't snipe THOSE from me! (Lamaze teacher, I've purchased such things for class demos in the past.....)
Hugs, and happy bidding!

JennaPea February 26th, 2003, 10:27 AM but if you see me bidding on obstetric forceps or something, please don't snipe THOSE from me! (Lamaze teacher, I've purchased such things for class demos in the past.....)
Hugs, and happy bidding!
I just might have some Obstetric thingys stored away somewhere from my OB Tech days.
Not sure where they are at this moment, or what I still have, but, if you're interested, I'll dig around and see what I have. ;)
LisaJaney February 26th, 2003, 10:53 AM Yes, JennaPea, let me know if you find some goodies. I landed two pair of ob forceps on eBay a few years back. Both fenestrated, there are Eliot forceps (the ones with the little adjustment wheel/screw on the handle) and a pair of PIPER forceps (for delivering the head of a BREECH baby; those are pretty rare!) and I got them both for $20! And they are in wonderful shape; no pitting or anything. I've seen crappy-looking Eliot's go for $45, pitting and dings and all. I think mine may have one small ding. VERY nice forceps. I believe strongly in showing the women some of potentially scarier stuff that's used, so that they have NO scary surprises in labor. I do show them internal monitoring equip (the scalp electrode and also the "intran") and I show them forceps. I don't have (yet) a vacuum extractor.....but I'm working on it. THey now have this little self-contained (needs no wall-mount- or portable- suction) unit called a "kiwi". Tiny, too. Gee, the things they USED to have were as big as a plunger! Yipes! The Kiwi is just tiny and so nice. No one would be fearful of seeing THAT. So, I have to land me one of those.
Yeah, let me know what you find! (gee, all the people who are watching this thread are gonna get this message and go, "Gyah, why'd I have to read THAT????")
