I am STILL desparately looking for hairstick blanks in the UK/Europe for my slide barrette project. I know that the people who are waiting for prototypes have agreed to use their own sticks, but if I want to sell them "retail" I have to find sticks.

I have googled and googled for it, and can't find anyone, anywhere...not jewellery places, not nothing. I think we must be hair stick phobic or something here. (People keep asking me who I want to stab). I am following a few leads here on people who woodturn, but it would be much better for me to be able to buy in bulk. I know FireMountainGems and other places sell blanks, but they have to be really really cheap for them to be worth me paying the shipping and stuff to get them here. Plus there is the risk of them getting broken in transit. ANYONE who knows ANYTHING, please respond or send me a PM. Europe is a good possibility....yes, I have tried e-bay uk with no success.

It is holding me up!! I want to sell soon.

Hi Bees...

So... all this discussion about Fire Mountain Gems a while back rang a bell to me.. My mother works for Fire Mountain Gems as an accountant.. She can get me (and already has) lots of hair sticks for lots of % off the lowest listed price.. For example, if the listed price is:

1 for 1.99 ea
10 for 1.59 ea
100 for 1.09 ea

...her price would be a % (I'm not sure what that is) less than 1.09... So, if you'd like, I would be more than happy to have her get some of the items and I will mail them to you so you can try them out.. Probably not the most ethical long term solution for retail, but if you really liked them, then the more bulk products you buy, the cheaper it is for you..

Let me know if you're interested :)

She set me up with a whole bundle of blank sticks, pins, beads and dangly things to create my own hair sticks.. I'll post some pics sometime.. I could sure use some creativity skills though!

Hope that helps!
