steficurls January 16th, 2006, 03:42 PM How embarassing! I only got 8 out of 10 correct!
dagonlilly January 16th, 2006, 04:13 PM my goodness I only got 7 right I dont remember 8th grade math being that hard it wasent until I was in high school did we do algebra.
Instantblue January 16th, 2006, 04:31 PM Well, since I used to teach 8th grade math, and now teach 8th grade science, I'm relieved to know that I can get them all right :)
thanks for the quiz!
Dispatcherbert January 16th, 2006, 04:35 PM Well I got eight out of the ten correct and am pretty excited by that since I suck at math. I had a hard time even remembering what some of the characters (like the carat "^") even meant!
ShanaMaidela January 16th, 2006, 04:57 PM Congratulations, you got 9/10 correct!
Whew! That's a relief. :) I think I got the last one wrong. Anybody remember the answer?

The answer to the final question is 5.
merry January 16th, 2006, 05:21 PM No, I couldn't.
Pierre January 16th, 2006, 05:28 PM I got all of them right, but I disagree with some of the questions:
1. To me "integer" and "whole number" mean the same thing, as "integer" is just Latin for "whole", and -7 is just as prime as +7.
5. "x+4 1/3=7" is ungrammatical. If you can't write the 1 above the 3, write "x+(4+1/3)=7". Do not write "4-1/4" when you mean "4+1/4".
5. Why are all questions but the first numbered 5?
thirstygodiva January 16th, 2006, 05:56 PM i'm in calculus right now so i guess i have to use these sort of things A LOT... once i get out of school for a couple years all this will be tossed to the winds

Wavelength January 16th, 2006, 06:01 PM Easy answer: NO.
I don't even have to take the test. I suck at math(s). I still count on my fingers for cripes' sake! :silly:
curls2grow January 16th, 2006, 06:25 PM Yay!!!! The 8th Grade Science one had me discouraged at the first question, though....

arwyn80 January 16th, 2006, 07:27 PM Ummm.....no. I went and looked at the test, and it gave me a headache. I am absolutely terrible at math, and if I had to do it all again I would get a big fat F.
HairColoredHair January 16th, 2006, 07:34 PM 9/10! Messed up the integer/whole number/prime number question of all things :brickwall
SikaDaniel January 16th, 2006, 07:51 PM I'm with arwyn80, math like that makes my head spin. I wish there was a way to make that stuff make sense to the "math challenged".
snowbear January 16th, 2006, 08:41 PM 1. To me "integer" and "whole number" mean the same thing, as "integer" is just Latin for "whole", and -7 is just as prime as +7.
This would explain my 9/10.
singindierain January 16th, 2006, 11:19 PM WOW 7/10 I barely passed. But then again it's been awhile since I've been out of school. Hehehe that's my excuse! 8)
