Hi all,
I have a question about being (or trying to get) pregnant and hair growth vitamins. Could i continue to take biotin and msm when im pregnant? And how much? I dont want my hair to look like it did during my first pregnancy. Im not pregnant yet, just looking for more info. :D

I don't know why you couldn't since I know that prenatal vitamins contain biotin. Between those vitamins and your hormones your hair is gonna grow like crazy so it may not be necessary. My friend Jenn's hair grew almost a foot in her nine months. Ofcourse I am no expert. Talk to your OBGYN... doesn't seem like vitamins would hurt tho eh? just my guess.

All I can tell you is that when I was pregnant and took prenatal vitamins my hair not only grew fast, it was thick and shiny....just beautiful!

My dr. advised me not to take anything other than the prenatals she put me on. However, I did notice an increadible difference with the prenatals.

I am not a doctor, but i have studied nutrition and pregnancy for my whole adult life having borne 10 children. I am also a midwife's assistant. Biotin is a necessary vitamin, but in excess it can deplete other b-vitamins leading to imbalances. I suggest that about 3 months before you want to get pregnant that you begin taking prenatal vitamins. They are full of the right stuff for a baby. And they will be marvelous for hair at the same time.
