I have many vintage ads from magazines
such as Seven Sutherland Sisters' Hair Grower / Scalp Cleaner,
Hall's Hair Renewer, Derma Royale, etc.
including an amethyst colored bottle with raised lettering
featuring the Sutherland hair tonic.

As my bathroom is sort of in a fussy fashion
with many shelves for what nots,
I just copied the original printed ads on my scanner,
printing in black and white, then cutting them out
so as to save the original from harm.
then decoupaging them to old glass bottles,
making it appear that the ad is what once belonged in
the bottle. A sepia tone would make them appear old and
dated as well if you wish for colored ads.

Using special craft scissors with fancy edges only adds to
the unique look, as well as cutting out colored borders the same
in foil paper or origami papers with pretty colors / textures.

I like to fill the bottles with varied levels of
"ingredients" using small glass beads, bath beads,
etc. so that the bottle has something in it, not necessarily
liquid, but just pretty things like pearls or whatnot
to represent the contents.

You can find many of these vintage ads on Ebay, various
websites, etc, so no need to purchase the ads and then
copy them. Just print them right from your computer!

Just thought about mentioning this, as the weather has
kept many schools from opening lately, so many of you
are home during the day. This might give you a fun thing to
do which is hair related and a cute item to add to your decor.
Perhaps if you don't have room in your bath area,
your vanity or dresser?

I am not sure about your printer,
but on mine, the 'color' selection when copying
a black and white ad comes out green,
the 'black and white' comes out mostly black
and the 'gray' selection gives a darkish blue tint.

You may have to play with a few copies to find
a satisfactory copy.

I'm thinking about doing doing kind of the same thing. I've been looking for vintage postcards that show women with long hair. I know I've seen them but since I decided I wanted some I can't find any. Isn't that always the way? :) I have a lovely green backed vintage brush and some old wooden handled curling tongs. I'd like to do kind of a shadow box thing filled with vintage hair items. I love going to flea markets and antique stores. The thrill of the hunt.

Can we see pictures of what you have done in your bathroom? I love to see other people's decor. I'm such a snoop lol :D

Yep, I watch him! Our bedspread/pillow shams are from his collection!!!! VERY elegant. I purchased seperate fancy decorative pillows to go with it though, cuz his were TOO expensive!!

I just finished decoupaging a bookcase with pre-raphaelite pictures (I'm very proud of it -- it looks great!)
