I'm taking part in the France Luxe group order and am absolutely DROOLING over some of their barrettes. I've not had one in my hair (except the bobby pin kind) because of bad experiences I've had with my hair tangling in the hinges.
Does France Luxe have a barrette that is kind to fine, fragile hair? I'd love to have some to keep my bangs (what's left of them anyway, they're getting pretty long) out of my face and maybe a bigger one to pull my hair into a low ponytail.

For pulling your hair back into a ponytail, France Luxe makes some beautiful hair slides in different sizes. Very smooth, very beautiful..

I've tried slides, and they live up to their name in my hair :( My hair is pretty slippery.

I fear I can't help you because anything I put in my hair gets lost and never falls, but I just want to DROOL with you over the barretes http://www.funeralart.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/drool.gif
Nobody has picked simple thicker barrettes yet, I hope they do so I can also pick one.
Sorry useless post :D

MariaAZ, I have a pair of their barrettes that have the old-fashioned clip--the one where the metal slips over a ball on the opposite side (not a French clasp). The barrette also has about five little teeth in it to keep it from sliding. It would be perfect, IMO, for fine hair. I don't need the little teeth, but I detest French clasps. I have to be so careful with them...but if I love something, sometimes I'll put up with them.
Just look carefully at the pics. You'll be able to tell which barrettes have this kind of fastener on them. I knew from the photo these would. I'd say all their medium-small barrettes seem to have them. I don't know why I bought such tiny barrettes, actually, but I just wanted to try them. They're cute! Usually I go for three-inchers. These are about two.

I relented and ordered a pair of narrow bar barrettes, about 2.5" x .25". I'm not sure what clasp they'll have, though I don't think the French clasp comes that narrow. I guess I'll just see what they are and figure out the best way to use them so I won't snip off bits of hair.
I just have to stay away from that thread now, or I'm gonna spend WAY too much money!
