View Full Version : I'm so happy ... my new hairtoys arrived today *pics included*
luna* November 23rd, 2005, 07:11 AM Just a few days ago I've ordered some new wooden hair toys. They arrived today.
I'm so happy with them, they are so nice and really gentle on my hair.
I've ordered 2 slightly curved hair sticks, a hair spiral and some kind of a fork.
This is the hair spiral. Sorry for the lame pic, but hubby isn't at home and can't take a nicer pic.

Isn't that one gorgeous? I'm waiting patiently for over 3 weeks now and it should arrive within next week.
Ria November 23rd, 2005, 07:15 AM It is always so much fun to get hair toys in the mail :)
I just had some flexi 8s show up this morning.
Yours all look realy nice but I particularly love the one you are still waiting for. Where did you order that one from?
luna* November 23rd, 2005, 07:20 AM I've ordered the wooden hair toys from http://www.kostkamm.de/scripts/shop.prg?shop=kostkamm and the hair slide (don't know if this is the right expression?) from http://www.das-drachennest.de/catalog/index.php?cPath=27_110_116&osCsid=2424f818c8e62c16a884f3f11b288b89
This link was posted here and I just HAD to order there even if it's quite pricey.
What are flexi8s?? Some kind of hair sticks?
Peggy E. November 23rd, 2005, 07:25 AM I'm hoping Santa will be weighed down with hair toys for my house this year, too! (So long as he doesn't leave the bill for them....)
How did you get the spiral in your hair, as long as your hair is? It's hard to see, but appears you have hair hanging down from it, right? This is such a great item!
That Celtic slide is gorgeous! I have a couple of lovely pieces from the Bronze Jewelers and wear them all the time - beautiful, strong and hold tight while still being very comfortable.
Thanks for sharing your new acquisitions!
Ria November 23rd, 2005, 07:27 AM Thanks for the links. My family lives in Germany and my mom is coming to visit me in January so I can order from German sites and have her add things to the pile of stuff to bring :)
Flexi 8s are hair slides of sorts, here is the link

luna* November 23rd, 2005, 07:36 AM Clanelliott, I hope Santa will be generous!!

It's really easy to get the spiral in the hair. I'm wearing a basic pony tail that I've just twisted twice around my nape. I put the spiral in that "baby bun", you just twist it a bit into the bun and then put the stick through it. It feels really comfortable.
Ria, that's great that you can order from German sites too. Kostkamm has excellent combs too.
Those flexi 8s are really nice and what a huge selection!! Thanks for the link. The prices seem to be reasonable.
Juliet's Silk November 23rd, 2005, 07:52 AM Ahhhh I totally forgot about Das-Drachennest.... those are gorgeous!
Now I know what my boyfriend can give me for christmas! :inlove:
Good to know that we DO have a few good hairtoy sites here in Germany, isn't it? I also marvel at the gorgeous hairsticks you have over there...
Thanks for sharing your new precioussss, luna*!
Neoma November 23rd, 2005, 08:25 AM Oh, my glory, that dragon slide is FABULOUS! My hair is way too short to merit buying it right now, but I bookmarked that site for future reference.
I don't speak German -- does the site accept U.S. $$? Not an immediate concern; just wondering.
zule November 23rd, 2005, 08:33 AM Neoma, most credit cards will do an automatic conversion for you when it comes to foreign currencies. There's often a fee, however, so you might want to check your card issuer first to see how much it will be.
CimarronSun November 23rd, 2005, 08:38 AM Hey! Nice lookin' hair toys you got there!
