I am using ample styling products and just wonder how often I should use a clarifying shampoo?

Weekly, or ever 2 weeks.

I usually average about every 2-3 weeks, depending on what stlying products I have been using, and what kind of experiments I have done

I guess I should clear it up a bit. I don't clarify as often as I suggested above, but then again I don't use styling products. I clarfy as needed.

I clarify as often as I think I need it or I think about doing it :silly: I haven't used styling products like sprays, gels, or mousses in several years but I do sometimes use a leave in conditioner, an oil, or a silicone glossing product. The oftenest I've done it in the last 2 years is probably once a month.

I clarify (with Neutrogena antiresidue, which is rather drying) when my scalp gets too itchy/oily. That works out to be about monthly.

I use gel that has a small amount of cones and I clarify about every 2-3 weeks.

I clarify every month or every month and a half with the Neutrogena stuff. Yes, it's drying, but it does get that ookie stuff out of my scalp.

I didn't mean to knock the Neutrogena stuff--I actually love it! When my regular shampoo quits working, one or two washes with Neutrogena will remove the oily gunk from my scalp and restore it to normal. Sounds like your scalp is a lot like mine.
