Does anyone here make quilts and sell them. I usually do it as a past time but I love doing it. Anyhow Ive been swamped with orders for christmas to make them epecially after I done my 2 kids one each. I just dont know what to charge. I know material cost goes into factor and the amount of detail. I don't do elaborate detail I do simple stuff that you can use the sewing machine for. Like star burst or block patterns. Most of the blankets I do are twin size it takes me about a week to make it. So any ideas of what I should charge????

Cost of materials, plus a reasonable hourly rate for your skilled work. Say, $10 an hour to start? One week's work, say, 8 hours a day for 5 days? 40 hours a week, times $10 an hour, is $400 an hour. Plus materials. Say, $450 or $500.

If you are going to do this as a business, that's how you need to think.
