View Full Version : Fine hair and jojoba...

Hi there, just wondering if any of you fine hairs
use jojoba oil as a daily leave in.
I have been putting it on my length 2x a week and leaving
it on overnight, then washing my hair in the morning.

Well the other night I highlighted my roots myself (yay me!)
with the Clairol Herbal Essences highlight kit (worked GREAT, very easy)
and washed my hair afterwards then put in some jojoba.
Left it on overnight, and in the morning just rinsed my scalp
(since I had just washed it the night before) and my hair looked
great (if I do say so myself :D )

I was thinking about doing this more often but I don't want buildup to become a problem---any experiences to share would be appreciated! :D

I haven't used jojoba oil myself, but I know that many on this board have... if you find buildup to be a problem, then all you'd need to do is clarify.

:D

Hi, Julie! I've got a mix of fine and medium hairs, and I do use jojoba daily. So far, I haven't had a problem with build up and have used it for three months. The only thing I've seen is improvement. :D

I have fine hair and jojoba is my all time favorite. I mix eo's in mine.
I find that jojoba is a very nice light oil and will not leave my hair with that greasy look that some other oils do.
If the jojoba is working well for you maybe you would also like Equestrian's glossing get recipe.

I don't particularly like Jojoba to oil dry hair. It makes my hair ends crunchy as soon as I put it on.

I like Monoi much better, but on wet hair.

I'm with Dweam on this one--I use jojoba (and now sunflower oil) on my ends but only when wet. I made this realization and haven't posted it in my journal yet: I really only benefit from oiling my hair when I put it in a damp bun. When I do that, and take it down a few times and re-bun it throughout the day, my ends look really great. Otherwise, oil doesn't seem to do much for my super fine hair.

Hair likes jojoba, but in limited quantities. I use it after washing on an as needed basis, 1-2x/week. I also really like it for deep conditioning. My hair doesn't like daily oiling with any type of oil.

Thanks for all your responses! I think I'll stick to 2, maybe 3 times a week with the jojoba for now, based on what y'all had to say.

This is a great place...I never would have made it through my horrendous
growing out phase last year without all off the advice and support from
everybody on the boards!

By the way, I think Hollie mentioned that photo island isn't working out so well, and I really do want to try to post some pics (try being the operative word :D )--what's everybody using now?
