I've seen people post a link that reads something like:

and then you click on it and it goes to a certain page. I'd like to post a link to my hair journal in my signature. I want it to say the title of my journal, so the link will read:

Raya's Going to Great Lengths

But when I copy the http and paste it, it only comes out

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=29186.

Of course if I then try to alter the wording, the link breaks. How can I do this? (Assuming I've made my question clear--I'm not sure I understand it myself!)

This is the code you need:

[ URL=http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=29186]my journal[/URL ]

Just remove the spaces inside the [] brackets and change "my journal" to whatever you want it to say.

[ thread=29186 ]Raya's Going to Great Lengths[ /thread]

Saves you characters in your sig--I noticed you have plenty there already.

Thank you, ladies. DBF, your method did the trick. Someway, yours didn't come out right, but I might have done it incorrectly. Anyway, I have it now. PS: Is my sig too big?

Or, when you're typing in the message box, simply type in the name of the thread, journal name, or web site name, then highlight all of the words and click the icon right above the text box that looks like a planet earth with a chain link in the lower right corner. A small box appears, into which you type or paste in the URL (copied from the location bar in the browser window of the thread, journal, web site), then click OK. This takes care of it for you.

Thanks from me too, I could do a link to my still very small journal.
