View Full Version : My trip to Sallys! KM, read on.....
LongRed February 23rd, 2003, 10:59 AM Today I went to Sally's today in
search of a good conditioner to put
on my hair with a cap on.....
GoldLady and KM swear by Mega
Moisture so I didn't get 1 tub, I
got 2 of the largest tubs! Because
if I got 2, I would get $2.00 off...
Here's the rest of my list of what I got:
a Turbie Twist
another sprayer bottle
and more shower caps..
Ahhh, what a successful day at sally's! :)

You are HORRIBLE! LOL!!! I miss Sally's SO much! You can find all sorts of stuff there. I'm weird, though. All of my favorite things there are the little "accessories." The squirt bottles, spray bottles, shower caps - all of that kind of stuff.
BTW, I did the same thing you did with the Mega Moisture (bought 2 of the largest tubs to get $2 off LOL). And just so you know, it makes an awesome CO conditioner (which is how I mainly used it), overnight treatment, mixed treatment (mix a scoop with some oils) - just about anything you could use a conditioner for/with.
:)
Teechia February 23rd, 2003, 11:14 AM Sounds like a great haul!!

I'm glad you had a fun trip,
and a safe one at that!
The tub deal with the two dollar coupon is still going on?
Oooh, Wednesday, here I come, Sallys!
I am out of conditioner. :(
Not just out but soooo out of the tub.
Yesterday I used all that was left and even added some
water to the empty tub, mixing it in desperation trying to
get every last drop of it.
Funny thing is, I have like umpteen other conditioners
in the bathroom, but I don't want them.
I want my L'Oreal!
I've oohed and aahed over many products, but I have
yet to find one thing wrong with this conditioner & shampoo line.
The Infusium builds up in my hair quickly,
the Biolage seems to make my hair fall out ( :?: )
Suave is drying over time and doesn't provide the slip I need,
I could go on.
But in listing pros and cons... I have YET to find one thing
I don't like about the tub L'Oreal Mega Moisture Conditioning Cream.
I love the color, the scent, the slip, the tub, everything it
does for my hair!
I don't even balk at the price, which seems a bit spendy,
but geez, if it can do this for my hair, I'm there.
Did you get me some lipstick???
:D
LongRed February 23rd, 2003, 11:32 AM Ugh, no I didn't get any lipstick there
(I know, what was I thinking)....
But I DID wear my seatbelt! :)
Equestrian February 23rd, 2003, 11:36 AM I love the Mega Moisture too! Betty got me hooked on it.
As Steph mentioned, it is a great one to mix with other things... I mix it with GM 12 min, jojoba oil, etc.
For some reason, the only time I use the LMM is when I feel like wearing my microwaveable heat cap. No real reason why...
I know you don't have a pic showing at this forum yet, but I wanted to tell you how lovely your hair looks in the signature you were attaching recently at net54. Your hair looks stunning and will be even more stunning at your goal length!!

LongRed February 23rd, 2003, 11:40 AM Thanks so much...last week
I was having feelings of hair
saddness and really didn't
know what to do with my hair
but now that I got some
conditioner I'm excited and
not pondering a cut.....
Thanks so much for your kind
words! :)
Carolyn February 23rd, 2003, 12:06 PM Isn't Mega Moisture great? I love it too.
gabiwags February 23rd, 2003, 12:41 PM Hi All!
Ooooo - yep, that ones a keeper - someday I'm going to toss all the stuff I'm sure I'll never use, sure I will ... :DD ...g
Axium February 23rd, 2003, 12:59 PM Glad you mentioned the Mega Moisture, altho wish I'd seen it before I left
I got three little misting bottles, a squirt bottle for my shampoo/water/oils mix, Good Hair Days pins, wide bobbyish pins, and Aussie Moist - altho to my chagrin, when I got home, I saw it is shampoo, which I don't want (lauryl) and not the conditioner which I love.
smiles March 29th, 2003, 07:21 PM i checked that out in yahoo shopping.
first one says 5.99 for 8 oz tub and the second is a bit confusing - do they mean 2 tubs of 16 oz for 29.99? isnt there still a wide gap of price diff?

Elle March 29th, 2003, 08:01 PM Good buys, LongRed!
I just bought myself another tub of Mega Moisture the day before yesterday! :) Great stuff!
LongRed March 30th, 2003, 01:51 AM Greetings Elle,
I'd have to AGREE with you, that Mega Moisture
stuff is wonderful and you know, I haven't
used it for a while!!!!!!! I'll have to dig
mine back out and give my hair
some pampering! Maybe I'll put
it on in the morning and skip
any other shampooing or conditioning
(kinda like a conditioning only wash!)
:)
Thanks for reminding me!
Anne March 30th, 2003, 08:08 AM Ooo I love coming home with new hair stuff! ;)
GoldLady March 30th, 2003, 08:25 AM HEY! You snuck through a second star!!!
:Star: :Star: :Star: :Star: :Star: Congrats!!!
Oh, I love Mega Moisture - you got a good
deal on it, too! I've been kind of distracted
by my Kenra Moisture Emollient lately, but
Mega Moisture is still close to my heart.

Oooh... I'm still waiting for my Kenra samples to get here! I was told they were sending them out the next day and that was on Monday... I'm hoping that they arrive soon! I can't wait to try this stuff! :D
Teacherbear March 30th, 2003, 09:48 AM I know this has been asked before, but . . . is Mega Moisture just moisturizing or does it have a lot of protein in it?'
<heading to search for my closest Sally's>
snippet March 30th, 2003, 10:20 AM I went to Sally's yesterday too! But I bought combs and brushes.
I bought two of those 3 row combs - one was a Denman and the other wasn't but it had more rounded ends on the points, so I thought I'd like it better (which I do.)
I got a Mebco comb - it's a tortoise color and has a handle. Looks identical to the Ace comb Teacherbear gave me. Feels good too.
I got two Denman brushes. One is a D4 or D5 - all black, 9 rows and has a good weight to it. The other is the classic D3, 7 rows of white bristles on a cushion base. I let my daughter choose which brush she wanted, as her brush is popping off those tips - she picked the D4/D5. So after brushing witht he D3 for a day and a half, I'm not so excited about them. Maybe it will grow on me as I continue to use it. I dunno though.
And I got a nice BBB brush made by Compare. The bristles are firm enough for my hair, and it's on a cushion base. I like it so far.
Oh yeah, I bought a plastic squeeze bottle for my next henna ordeal, and a shampoo cape on sale ($4.00) so I can cut my son's hair. I've been using an old outgrown plastic rain poncho but it has so many tears in it, it doesn't work well.
Madeleine March 30th, 2003, 01:04 PM I know this has been asked before, but . . . is Mega Moisture just moisturizing or does it have a lot of protein in it?'
MM contains no protein at all! :)
