I used it , I actually still have half a bottle but I was not really impressed because it made my hair puffy and a little dry , after a few months of using I got scalp itch too. :?


But I have to admit, these shampoos are ones of the best at the drug store. :D

I'm with Violeta - I loved it at first, but after creeping cone damage, I threw three bottles in the garbage. I won't touch the line again.

I use the one against breakage right now.. I used up a full bottle before coming around here and read about the cone thing... I now decided to continue using it, but diluted with water, only on the head while protecting the lenghts with a mild, cone free conditioner, and I started doing vinegar rinses... hope this reduces the chance for cone dammage a bit.
My hair seemed to like the product though... there must be another thread about it here somewhere....

I use the one for colored hair (the dry-defense treatment). It works well for the price. I use it once in a while, since I try to rotate ALL my products, and I do have a lot ;) :D

I forgot to mention, I dislike the smell :insert puke face: smells to much like powder

The German version (called elvital) smells of raspberries - yum!

Sorry guys, I know this is an old post but I just tried this (like many others I'm on a shampoo quest :D) and so far really like it. I was looking for a shampoo without cones and without SLS or the ammonium lauryl/laureth's as they seem to bother my hair too. I noticed the other shampoos in the Vive line all had ingredients I didn't like, but the color care one (ColorVive) didn't so that's the one I bought. It is extremely gentle. AmandaPanda is right though-- the smell is so baby powdery!! It goes away though once your hair dries.

Now, I'm on to experiment with the Nexxus line (thanks, Tresses! ;))

I tried their nutravive (i think) 2-in-1. It made my hair feel drier than my usual Fructis 2-in-1 did, so now it sits under the sink in case I run out of my usual stuff.

I can use all the different ones and my hair just reacts so wonderful to it! The anti-dandruff or for coloured hair… it doesn’t matter! My hair just loves it!!! :D
But I only use the anti-breakage and the one for damaged hair though :P I just like to know that if I can’t get my usual stuff, my hair likes ANY kind of Loreal

I know this is kind of an old thread but I've tried Elvital(=Elseve here) conditioner and got such nice results that want to make my contribution. I know it has cones but my hair loves cones anyway...
Hair became untangly and very soft and less frizzy and it seems to reduce volume too which makes it easier to deal with and look longer ( :lol: no L'oreal doesn't pay me)

I remember liking the one for colored hair in this line several years ago, when I'd dyed my hair w/Feria and it was hovering just past waist. I think my favorite thing about it was the scent.

I remember trying a L'Oreal Vive shampoo & conditioner 10+ years ago. I don't think I've ever had a shampoo that left my hair feeling so soft. I wonder why I haven't gone back to them again.

I guess it's because I'm trying out Dove right now. :silly:

I like the smooth intense shampoo and conditioner and the nutri-gloss hair mask and shampoo.
The nutri-gloss hair mask is cone-free!! But the other 3 products contain cones. I never use them exclusively, only now and then, because I don't want to overdo the cones.

i really liked the coloured one too. and it kept my colour in while i was still colouring. i want to try the new pink one for long hair (really want to try it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but i made a new rule to use up one before i bought another (after clearing like 20 bottles out.)

so i will be looking for reviews of that one.

I have the shampoo, the shimmering leave-in stuff and the hair mask.

The shampoo makes my hair very smooth, but that's no wonder since it contains lots of silicone.

The shimmering leave in cream is just crap imo!
It doesn't do anything for my hair except a mica overload which looks so silly on darker hair. This mica shimmer stuff sticks to everything: hands, clothes, car seat etc.

The hair mask is great stuff and is free of cones. I would buy this one again.

What colour is the shampoo bottle for colour protection that everyone was raving about? My German isn't good enough to work it out!
I had the white shampoo and that was ok, but the yellow/red conditioner loaded my hair down with 'cones.
Interesting that the masks are cone free. Hmmmmmm I foresee another trip to my friendly neighbourhood Schlecker, very soon.

The products for colored hair are in red bottles. I used the shampoo and conditionner (after having my hair dyed with Feria), but I really hated it: my hair had never been as dry, and my color faded in two weeks... :rolleyes:

Are we looking at the same product? The ones I saw this morning all contained at least two sulphates and at least one cone.
I plumped for Dead Sea shampoo instead, which has no cones and only SMS. Seems good so far, but my hair hasn't dried yet.

Yes. In France it is called Elseve, and I think it is called Elvital in Germany.

I use the leave-in with kera proteines ( special leave in to 'restore' your hair) in a pink-purple tube in the summer, it prevents dryness from the sun.
The shampoo is pretty good also ( with kera proteines)
The oly co I have used from Elsève is the purple one, for volume. It doesn't give me more hair, but it smells great and it makes my hair really soft :cloud9:

Thanks Luna* - that's the one I looked at. I'm very pleased with the Dead See/Totes Meer shampoo though; I might try the colour one when my hair has got bored of that!

I've just tried the conditioner which says it's supposed to give shine and make hair easily combed. Yes detangling is OK and there is some shine but not like after I got from deep oil treatments. The softness is OK but not very special and my hair got frizzy the next day so I think they're not very good .
I'LL continue using the one that gives extra moisture.

I have the dry hair formula and I like it! I rotate it in and out of my COs since I CO with something different every single day...but my hair is quite happy with it.

Wow, I'm using the Smooth Intense shampoo at the moment, and I really hope that doesn't happen to me!

I've only used it twice as part of a CWC, but it seemed really quite good. I picked it cos it had SLES not SLS.

Will update this if my hair starts to fall out! :ponder:

I bought the Nutri Gloss "deep treatment" and have tried it twice. It made my hair hair feel nice but not very shiny. I expected my hair to be shinier since it's supposedly a shine enhancing product. I get shinier hair with a normal (and cheaper) conditioner. Nutri Gloss also gave me a neck rash... So I don't recommend this product for people with sensitive skin.

Any ideas how to use the rest of the jar without the conditioner getting in touch with my skin :rolleyes:

I also wonder if the Nutri Gloss deep treatment is truly without cones since it felt so slippery when applying and rinsing. Only coney conditioners have felt the same when I've rinsed.

I think I'll buy plain aloe next...

I was eyeing the highlighted hair formula today. Anyone had luck with this line?

I bought the pink 'poo (for long hair and shine) and it gave me the worst flaky scalp. I had to do deep oil treatments to get the scalp back to normal. Then (I wasn't totally convinced) after 2 week time, I've tried the 'poo again, and again got flakes all over. And guys, I don't even have a sesitive scalp!!! (*Must learn not to buy evrything pink*)

I love Vive shampoos, and some of their conditioners. I use the Nutri-Force line (the one for breakage) faithfully. It's nice and thick and cleans my hair without stripping it. I also use the Women of Color shampoo because it's the only shampoo that reduces my frizzy summer hair. I also use the color-vive 5 minute conditioning treatment. Even though my hair isn't colored (yet), its super moistizing and I like that.

Here it's called Elvive. I've never used the shampoos, but I bought the nutri gloss conditioner (the pink one) and the conditioner for coloured hair and they're great for CO! They make my scalp clean, without the nasty dandruff and buildup. They are also low in cones, which is great, because I can't afford buying cone-free products.

i really love l'oreal vive shampoo and conditioner for highlighted hair. it's one of the few drug store brands that doesn't leave my slightly wavy hair a frizzy mess. wee!
