Hi all! Finally got a moment away (Jakey's sleeping) and decided to take care of a few things on the (much neglected) boards.
1. I have disabled HTML. Having it enabled poses several very large security risks - ones that will effect all of the members negatively if attacked. Instead of using HTML for images, formatting, etc. please use the BBCode (which will remain enabled). Sorry for the trouble, but the boards will remain much safer this way.
2. Due to the bandwidth problem late last month, I am finding ways to cut the transfer amount. This includes replacing some of the images located on our server with simple text (such as "New Topic," "Reply," "Quote," ect.). The change that some of you will have already noticed is that I have disabled avatar image uploading. Unfortunately, this feature produces large amounts of data transfer each time a page is loaded.
3. I have disabled hotlinking from this site. If you were linking to a picture from this site (avatar, logo, etc.), it will now show up on your site as a red "X". This should also eliminate some bandwidth load.
4. If you have found a reliable picture host that allows hotlinking (linking to a picture successfully) - free or not - would you please let us know about it in the "Site Support" section? I believe that there are still people looking for places to link to their hair pictures.
Will post an update in a few!
Thanks for all the support!
