View Full Version : Arabian Bright by LUSH
CurlyBrunette August 21st, 2005, 07:37 AM Just wanted some feedback on this product because I bought some yesterday and I wanted to try it. I did a search but most of the info was from a long time ago and since we have a lot of new people here I thought I'd ask again.
Thanks,
CB
LadyGrey August 21st, 2005, 07:41 AM No first-hand experience here but my best friend uses it to boost her hennaed hair color and shine, and she loves it.
Her hair *is* shinier - and that's me speaking, here, so being objective
It works as a henna gloss from what I understand.
pietri August 21st, 2005, 08:08 AM I've been using it for a while now - my hair loves it. Also I really love the scent :-)
I'm hoping it'll help me to keep my hair healthy enough for growing out; it did dye my grey hairs a bit when I left it on for about an hour - that's what led me to trying henna for dyeing my hair.
CurlyBrunette August 21st, 2005, 03:36 PM Thanks guys! I have yet to try it but when I finally do I will post about it here.
Rain August 21st, 2005, 03:41 PM I've been curious about Arabian Bright for a long time. I'm now anxiously awaiting the CurlyBrunette report!
Fia August 22nd, 2005, 12:47 AM I've used it a long time ago. It took quite a lot of product to get through the hair and give any coverage (at least if you want to use for any color benefit). If I remember correctly my hair was at about shoulder length and it took about half the pot to get any result as I applied to dry hair as per the instructions.
Too expensive, too little result both colorwise and effectwise to continue using it - at least for me.

Fia, I don't think Arabian Bright is supposed to do much colorwise - there is too little henna in it for that. I believe it can be used to brighten red highlights on natural red or hennaed hair, but the color change shouldn't be dramatic...
Liv August 22nd, 2005, 01:44 AM I hated it! It did nothing but add dryness to my hair, and I knew why when I read the ingredients..........
Edit: And here's the ingredients: Ingredients: Red Henna Infusion (Lawsonia inermis), Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Frankincense Resinoid (Boswelia carterii), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben,

True, but I expected at least a bit of color change on the un-hennaed roots - especially with how they advertise the product (http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/644?expand=00007:upd=y) . Nothing, nada, zilch - even with the large amount used.
Magenta August 22nd, 2005, 03:30 AM I have to agree with Liv my hair hair incredibly dry and brittle feeling I think its one of those products that people either love ot hate. Good luck with it though I hope it works for you!
willowcandra August 22nd, 2005, 06:24 AM i never really noticed any significant colour benefits. it leaves hair like henna ie its like a protien treatment use a good conditioner when you wash it out.
i really really like the smell though its so nice an aquired taste but it works for me. it leaves me shiny, it must be good cause i have almost done with a second tub. i dont usually make repeat purchases. hope you enjoy.
i left mine about two hours.

I think I caught the henna bug Rain. I ordered from Catherine today at henna for hair so I will most likely use that henna 1st to seee what it does to unadulterated hair.

Good luck! I think I'd be a henna & indigo head by now if it came premixed in a squeeze tube. That, and if I wasn't a total chicken. :D

I've just bought a squeeze bottle to help me apply henna, 'cause I'm sure it would be a jolly mess without...
I'm trying my first henna + indigo mix later this week.
