View Full Version : A message to the admin
oogie July 8th, 2005, 12:55 PM Please understand that I don't mean this in any rude way, so please pardon if I don't word this exactly 'right'.
About a week ago, my computer had a hiccup and I lost my browser and internet connection. With the browser loss I lost my info for this site. I lost my cookie, id and password. I notified someone that I needed someone to help me with this matter but a week later I never got a response. I finally collected up my books and found what I had used where... LHC was not the only site I had to do this with.
Anywhoots, I guess what I'm trying to say is that a check may need to be made to see if there are any problems with login or account access. I found it really odd that I didn't get any response from LHC and was wondering if there were any troubles.
dancingbarefoot July 8th, 2005, 01:03 PM Hm, that's odd. I'm sorry you were having troubles! Is it working right now?
Stephanie was doing some maintenance a week or so ago, and several people had log-in problems during that time. I'm sorry no one got back to you, but it's possible that the maintenance glitches resulted in a lost message. We try to respond to any issues as soon as possible, so I'm hoping this is a result of a message getting lost rather than anyone ignoring it.
If you still have troubles, please PM (or more) moderator again and we'll see what we can do. :flower:

I lost all my bookmarks, all my cookies, all my login info for like a dozen or more so sites and then some. I really was put into a weird bind with it all.
I figured it was a case of a glitch is why no one got it. No major deals but I figured I might need to let someone know about these things.... usually admin and mods here are on things like white on rice...

The same thing happened to me. I logged in to lhc and lost all of my bookmarks. I thought it was just me.

Weird! Thanks for posting about it, though, so Stephanie knows what sort of issues people are having. Not sure there's anything we can do at this point.
LisaJaney July 11th, 2005, 04:53 AM I'll chime in and say that I've had a helluva time with viruses. Finally had to tell my computer-guy to just wipe everything (I lost it ALL) and start over. The next day I get online and the ONLY place I went was here, and I got the notification I had been getting back when my puter was riddled with viruses: Norton Antivirus just stopped something bad from downloading onto your puter, it's called download.trojan.
Is it possible for the server to have such a thing and we didn't even know about it? I called Jenn and she was going to check and get back to me but I haven't heard any more about it...
Jennifer July 11th, 2005, 10:46 AM Oogie,
I'm sorry to hear about that, but glad you were able to get back! :flower:
I don't get the site admin. emails if a member has used that form. I think Steph gets all those and I'm sure she gets a bunch of them so it's easy enough to get lost in the pile. Stephanie isn't able to spend as much time around here these days and has been having some computer issues, etc. making it even more difficult to get quick replies with that form.
I haven't been able to spend as much time here myself lately with school being out, but I'm still around and checking in quickly when I can, just haven't much time to actually type.
Lisa, I left you a message today! ;) I've not heard anything more about it either, so I'm guessing things are ok here or I'd have heard otherwise.
HTH! :flowers:
Meg_Evenstar July 11th, 2005, 12:11 PM I'm having problems too. My personal system is down and I am logged in on my husband's. I don't know how long I will be able to stay on as something is very wrong with our computer.
Meg
Meg_Evenstar July 11th, 2005, 01:28 PM I hope I am OK now. I had a bunch of spyware and once that was cleared it seems to be running better.
