Hi there. In the last couple of years I have noticed that when I pick at a zit or a blackhead (yes, I know I shouldn't--but can anybody really leave them alone??? :D ) it leaves a mark that won't go away for week, even months, if at all! Now I DO try to be careful (i.e. steaming face, using washcloth. etc) but I still have all these marks. I have tried products with hyrdoquinone (meant for fading), but they give me blackheads! UGH!!!!
Any ideas for a way to help fade these marks? I have alot of "sunspots" too--ahh getting older is so much fun :D . TIA

I get the same things. :(

I have been having luck using
straight Vitamin E oil on them.

I had heard great results using
Vit. E on scars and thought, what
the heck, these are scars.

I've only been doing this for maybe
3 weeks, and I have already noticed
a difference. AND, best of all, it
doesn't break out my VERY prone
to break out face.

I got mine from http://www.pvsoap.com/carrierbasespecialtyoils.asp
(because I ordered some soap making supplies from them.) It's near
the bottom of the page.

HTH!

I agree with GoldLady.. try the vitamin E oil. I've used it when i've had bad breakouts, and it does wonders!

Thanks ladies, I picked up some Vit E oil at my local co-op after reading your responses while I was at work (shh. don't tell :D ) I hope it works for me, my skin is driving me nuts...you'd think that at 34 years old this pimple/blackhead problem would be a distant memory.
If anybody else has had success with a particular product I'd love to hear about it too!

Julie, try lemon juice, dot it on the spots, leave it on for about 20 minutes or so and it should help to bleach the spots.

hi julie,

you might want to check this recipe here. (http://www.care2.com/channels/solutions/self/119)

Simple Solution:
Brown spots—age spots or liver spots they are sometimes called—are the result of sun exposure. I've seen certain ingredients used over and over again in the hold herbal body care formulas for this problem. The ingredients include vitamin E, aloe vera gel, fruit acids such as lemon juice and organic apply cider vinegar, enzymes such as papaya and pineapple, witch hazel, and horseradish mixed with lemon juice, or milk. I’ve seen my own age spots significantly diminish over a number of months using lemon juice as an astringent and an aloe vera gel and glycerin moisturizer (3/4 parts aloe vera gel, 1/4 part natural vegetable glycerin).

I feel you! I'm 35 and no one told me that I would have pimples and wrinkles!!!!!

::raising hand:: I'm also a member of the Teenaged Skin in Your 30s Club. That Miracle Whip in the other recent thread is sounding tempting. Otherwise, I use yogurt and lemon juice (about 1:1) a couple of times a week while sitting in the sun for no more than five minutes to even out my skin tone.

Thank you so much Anne, Smiles, Tstephens and Heidi! I appreciate your help very much, now I have a variety of methods to try :D
I wonder why it is that so many of us are getting acne in our 30's and 40's--when I was a kid I don't recall people at that age having zits.

Argh, I sure wish I knew the answer to that one. I've only recently discovered definable connections between my skin and products or diet. My skin's been looking terrible lately, and I know it's because I haven't been drinking my two gallons a day of water and instead, have been drinking too much coffee. :coffee:

Ask your dermatologist about a cream called Kojac Acid (to fade discolourations).
