I'm looking for some new accessories for the prom later this month (a friend of mine who's graduating asked me to go with him), and I was wondering if you folks knew of a good place to look. I want something with clear rhinestones/crystals, because my dress is black and white with two diamond-ish buttons. So even something with black would be good. I've looked at all the stores around here, with no luck. Although, I am going down to Florida for a wedding this weekend, so maybe I can do a little shopping then. Does anyone know of a store/online shopping place that sells this kind of thing? Thanks for your help!

Several thoughts, off the top of my head:
One, have you tried Hair Boutique? They have a lot of sparkly stuff, IIRC. Their website is here:
http://mp.hairboutique.com/
Also, this is less specific, but we've got a thread where we toss good hair toy links when we find them. It's a lot to wade through, but if you've got a bit of time to burn online, take a look at this thread:

Hmmm. Do you have a Claire's near you? They frequently have a good selection of accessories that would work for prom styles. They don't have stuff that will last you until you're 50, usually, but they're inexpensive and pretty, typically. They're typically in malls -- if they aren't in your area, you might take a look in Florida.
Hope that helps some,
Jonobie

I agree with Jonobie, check out hairboutique.com for accessories.
They also have a prom hairstyles chat board(http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/summary.asp?forum=AMB%5FAP698998504)
Longlocks has a prom hairstyles chat board also(http://www.longlocks.com/salon/?board=promhairstyles)
HTH!
Have fun at your prom! I didn't go to any of mine...

This might sound completely off the wall but try checking a sewing supply store. You might be able to find some buttoms that match the ones on the dress. Then it's just a matter of sewing them onto a hair-friendly elastic and creating whatever kind of hairstyle you'd like (which I doubt you'll have a problem with.) The best kind of buttons to use for this type of project are the ones with a loop on the back rather than holes through them. I've made decorative hair elastics for myself this way. It's cheaper than store-bought ones, you can get exactly the kind of look you want, and when the elastic gets stretched out of shape you can just sew the button onto a new one. Or this thought just occured to me, you could style your hair into some sort of updo or partial updo and then "sew" the buttons into the style with some pretty ribbon.

Heehee. If there's one thing this board knows, it's hair toys! Glad we could point you towards some stuff that looked interesting.
Cheers,
