View Full Version : Hair related: Sara Shampoos!!
Kitty Brite February 17th, 2003, 10:44 PM Actually I decided I'd do something that I haven't done in a very long time with shampoos.
It started when i was really lazy and din't feel like lathering at all (like actually srubbing and moving hair around in the shower with the suds) I decided I'd just gloss it on, and put a "coating" on after I wet it and washed it off, without lifting a hair.
it really helped! My hair looks nice and glossy. :) it's so shiney! I think that's from allowing the scales of my hairs to be left alone and allowing them to be in their natural form ,downward. :D
Its so nice! Now if I could only stop touching it..

I do think you should scrub your scalp once in a while though to get rid of flakes, ordinary dead skin and build-up.

Pixna February 18th, 2003, 04:18 AM I like to dilute my shampoos with water, shake them up in a sealed plastic container, then pour them over my head for the same reason, Kitty, and because shampooing this way causes me to shed less. However, I also find I end up with a very itchy scalp. So, the occasional scalp scrubbing is necessary and important -- for both cleanliness and comfort.
Kitty Brite February 18th, 2003, 06:46 AM Thanks for the advice! Yeah my scalp did feel a little itchy (probably because I didn't put much of the shampoo on my scalp, or the layer of shampoo I slabbed on didn't touch it)
it's not bad at all right now. I bet you it will get itcher with increased cold though.
Do any of you use the brown sugar scrub?
How much of the brown sugar do you put in the conditioner and does it heal the itchies?
Is it 2 tble spoons of brown sugar and one table spoon of coinditioner or is it the other way around? I can't rememeber.

I dont use the scrub I just use my fingers. I have heard a lot of good things about the scrub though.
The reason It helps with itching is because it remove scalp build-up.
For itching that is not caused because of flakes etc (which can be removed by manual scrubbing) a vinegar rinse works great.

gabiwags February 18th, 2003, 05:06 PM I feel like I have to scrub around the scalp - but trying to not scrub the hair sounds like a good idea ... ;) ...g
Kitty Brite February 18th, 2003, 07:11 PM Talking about the Sara-Care line :) Sorry to confuse anyone.
And yeah i try to aviod rubbign my hair a lot but sometimes it doesn't work, baseball caps at work don't really help all that much especially if a headset is way too big for your head and sliding off.. :D
Ouch. sometimes flyaways are unavoidable.
Stephanie February 18th, 2003, 07:34 PM I may have to try this with my Mastey Traite. It's gentle as it is, but I'd be one big happy camper if I could reduce shampooing friction while removing my greasies at the same time. Hmmm...good thought.
Thanks for the idea! :)
