steph..not chocolate, but it is good. it's a candy (which i thought was a southern thing only. guess not)...sort of a saltwater taffy or nougut (candybar filling) consistency...soft, but still chewy. grandma also adds pecans to it. not sure if that was on hollie's list of ingredients.

candymaking isn't one of my cooking skills, so i've never made it myself.

Ahhh...I see. Thanks.

::clearing throat:: IIIIiiiii would add some cocoa powder to it... ;) hehehe...

Sounds like something you'd have to have with a gallon of milk. :) That's my kind of snack. ;)

if you want chocolate, go for fudge. divinity is an entirely different consistency. chewier....actually, i like divinity more than fudge. i'm not much of a chocoholic.

and i hope my avatar's working.

Drui.....yes, it's working. Actually, I don't find divinity to be chewy at all...at least mine isn't. It's firm, but very soft, if that makes any sense. It just melts in your mouth. You don't even have to chew.

Yep - if you're wanting chocolate, Steph, go for the FUDGE!!! :D

Oh, SERIOUSLY...don't tempt me! LOL We have a little shop here in town that makes nothing but fudge. It's called "The Alaskan Fudge Co." LOL!!! I don't think I've ever had better fudge (shhhh! don't tell my mom!!!). I can go through a pound of it in a day - EASY. LOL!!!

One of my favorites is the fudge with a nice ribbon of peanut butter flowing through the middle. Another is the rocky-road style (called something Alaskan...not sure what it was). Mmmm... But of course, there's their original with nuts and then plain without nuts... Oh, and for the white choc. lovers, they've got that, too. And butterscotch... OMG. I'm gonna die.

Oh, nonononono! You should see me when I'm NOT pregnant! Oh, man! There is NO difference! LOL!!! If anything, I'm worse then, because I actually CAN eat a whole pound of it. They have me on sugar and dairy restriction so Jake doesn't get too big. LOL ::sips my glass of ice milk::

;) hehehe...

oh gosh... i don't much care for chocolate, but i adore fudge! and heath bars, but that's another story....

my girlfriend makes some awesome fudge every christmas. i keep bugging her for the recipe, she says it is easy and doesn't need cooking. i've never gotten it and she's moved to the dc area.

i'm gonna have to bug her again... or get steph to find a web addy for her alaskan fudge store....
