it sounds interesting on the taco salad. We have that frequently. Avacados are never a good price, but maybe once a year they go on a good sale.

I just mash an avocado, add a teaspoon of lemon or lime juice, a pinch of salt, and enough sour cream to make it about the same consistency as ranch dressing; maybe a little thicker. I like to add a few drops of Sriracha sauce (http://www.huyfong.com/frames/fr_sriracha.htm) to make it spicier. I use a stick blender to make the dressing, but it can be done by hand too. Avocados are indeed expensive! I have found that peeling the skin off a ripened avocado yields more of the fruit than trying to scoop it out.

I LOVE avocados. Avocado + mayo + spoon = heaven. I wish they weren't so expensive. It's kind of a rare treat for me. I often buy 2 of them after exams.
