Can anyone recommend a good scent-free hairspray? I'm only going to use it once, so I'm not too concerned about the ingredients. I just may need a nice professional-looking 'do for an upcoming interview and my wispies aren't very professional-looking. :) I plan on french braiding my hair but I need those wispies to be held in check! It has to be scent-free because my school has a policy on that. For that matter, most places have a scent-free policy now.

I'm fairly certain that suave makes one (my friend's dad liked it bc it held his comb-over in place without a girlie smell). However, it is just a standard spray bottle (and I find aerosols better for natural looking hold on complicated styles) so you could try Consort (a men's spray) and that's unscented and aerosol. Finesse makes several, and those should be pretty easy to find, so I would probably go with Finesse if I were you.

I have Suave Unscented Hairspray in an aerosol can and I like it. It holds well, I bought the max hold, and there is no overwhelming scent.

If you need only to control wispies and aren't after a very strong hold to your hairdo, I'd recommend aloe vera gel. It is natural, doesn't have scent and it works very well with wispies. And it's good for hair. You use it like hair gel: squirt a little on your palm and apply to hair. It looks wet first, but is invisible when it has dried. If it can tame my army of baby hairs, it will work for anyone :silly:.
And if you don't need it later for controlling wispies, you can use it to treat minor burns or to moisturize hair (mix to a few drops of jojoba oil).

Elbereth, it's weird seeing your username pop up - because my real life name is Elbereth. I always have a moment of "wait! I just logged on! I didn't write that!!"
Too funny...
I use lemon juice as hairspray, and I find that it doesn't leave a smell once it has dried. I get crazy wispies and this totally settles them down without making my hair a helmet...

 Your RL name is very nice then. Actually, I would have chosen Galadriel, the name that I use on another board, but in this community that name was already taken so I had to find another LOTR themed name.
Lemon juice...that sounds interesting. It's acidic...doesn't it dry hair?
