View Full Version : Too soon for H'suan Wen Hua?
BeeLady February 21st, 2003, 09:31 AM As you know, I bought this at LUSH on Wednesday. It's in the fridge.
I am on washday tomorrow, but as it's a pre-wash I don't know what it will do. Is it protein-y? Because I oiled this week and I don't want to end up with crunchy bits. I oil once a fortnight.
Someone? Any words of advice? I have to go shopping now (we have no food!!) but I will be checking back in the morning before I wash?
What have you found this to do? I can always try my Chamomile Lawn tomorrow instead....so ....it's no hardship!!
Love
Bees xx
JennaPea February 21st, 2003, 09:56 AM Oh! Are you supposed to keep Lush stuff in the fridge? I didn't know that! Guess I better go do it now. :?

I've never used it, but looking at the ingredients, I see:
fresh egg
soya lethicin
Both of which are protein. Don't know how much of the total that is, though.
Cheers,

Feye February 21st, 2003, 10:34 AM I haven't found H'Suan Wen Hua to be very protein-y, but then I've never used it that often. I don't use it anymore either, because it was devastating for my dating life. ;) A guy thought that I had been smoking drugs, and refused to believe that the strong smell was from my conditioner. And gone went his admiration for me. :face:
Stephanie February 21st, 2003, 10:45 AM You can't be serious, can you, Feye?! That stuff smells SO good! In fact, I'm trying to recreate the smell with fragrance and essential oils. LOL
Mmmm...yummy...
JennaPea February 21st, 2003, 10:54 AM Do I need to keep the shampoos in the fridge, too :?:
Kao February 21st, 2003, 11:09 AM I don't keep my Lush stuff in the fridge, JennaPea? But I think I understand why you might want to keep the pre-wash conditioners in there, at least H'suan Wen Hua.
They've got a lot of perishable ingredients, and fridgerating them would make 'em last longer. It might work for liquid things like the shower gels etc., but... meep. o.o;
I don't think I could handle refridgerator-fresh stuff on my head or body!

Yes, I'm serious. When I told him it was my conditioner, he looked away and only said "Well, it's none of my business". Like he didn't believe me!
Actually, I liked the smell of H'Suan Wen Hua in the beginning, but I soon grew tired of it and gave it to my mum instead. :)
JennaPea February 21st, 2003, 11:31 AM Okay, I'll just keep the pre-washes in the fridge. Kao, I'm with you about refridgerated stuff on the hair and body!! I like warm stuff!
Martine February 21st, 2003, 11:51 AM If it doesn't say 'refridgerate after opening' it's because there are enough preservatives in the product for it to keep when left out. I don't know of any Lush products where refridgeration is recommended by the manufacturer.
The Lush products use standard parabens as presevatives -- don't be mislead by the creation dates on the products, they are not the same thing as 'expirey dates'. It's just a marketing angle that goes along with their 'fresh' marketing approach and really has nothing to do with the shelf life of the products. That's what the presevatives are for.
BeeLady February 21st, 2003, 12:31 PM ....sensible places to keep things in our house are limited. I don't think it needs to stay there. Our heating is blown at the moment anyway (and it is FREEZING here) so it wouldn't matter much.
I think I will ease it away anyway, just try the shampoo. I like to try one thing at a time with new products...I was really just wondering if anyone found it protein-y. Will leave it for deep conditioning day next week.
I'll go back to being cold now.

OMG! I would have thought he'd be burying his face in your hair! LOL! Oh, well.
The smell reminds me of Chai Tea. :)
