View Full Version : New bun cover thingie
Grey_Lady January 3rd, 2005, 09:20 PM This one is done with red #10 cotton thread instead of yarn. I used a teeny B hook, which is still bigger than the pattern called for. Also, I'm throwing in a bonus picture of my cat.
Here is the pattern if anyone wants it: http://members.aol.com/cillcrochets/chignon.html

Madeleine January 3rd, 2005, 11:55 PM Very pretty bun cover and cute kitty. :)
I'm still pondering if I should try to make a bun cover me, but I really want a beaded one and I dunno if that wouldn't be too complicated for someone who hasn't crocheted in over ten years.
Queenie January 4th, 2005, 02:04 AM Oooh that's right! Bun covers! I've been thinking about making some for such a long time now. Madeleine, if I ever get to that, I'll make you a couple too. It's going to be so much fun to play with colors and beads :inlove:
I really like how yours turned out, Grey_Lady! Thanks so much for the link!
And I just *love* your sweetie pie - she's gorgeous!
Annie January 4th, 2005, 03:58 AM I found that pattern a few days ago, too. And I did a thread one for myself. thought I added a couple of extra rows to make it bigger....I also did a yarn one with pink baby yarn for a neighborgirl to match her ballet outfit. They are so quick and pretty. Your's looks great!
SagittarianTiger January 4th, 2005, 05:07 AM That is pretty!! I'm gonna have to try that one too.
And kitty is adorable!!:inlove:
Sylph January 4th, 2005, 05:10 AM I wish I could do this sort of thing. it looks so nice, and I bet buying one long enough for my hair would be hard. I just seem to knot wool and thats about it. :(
Awwwww. Pretty Kitty! Looks like my neighbours cat when I was little :) Doesn't s/he try to 'help' you with the wool.
Sally January 4th, 2005, 05:56 AM niiiiiice (bun cover and kitty-cat).
Madeleine January 4th, 2005, 12:01 PM Madeleine, if I ever get to that, I'll make you a couple too. It's going to be so much fun to play with colors and beads :inlove:
Oooh, I'd totally take you up on that! :flowers:

Meg_Evenstar January 5th, 2005, 03:41 PM Oh thanks for this link. I was just about to ask if anyone had a pattern for a ballet bun cover. My daughter has to have them for class and I want to make them. I am so thrilled to find this thread :inlove:

Carolyn January 12th, 2005, 11:48 AM Oh very nice. I am going to have to brush up on my crochet skills and give it a try. I'd love a black one with some beads on it.
steficurls January 21st, 2005, 02:37 AM That is gorgeous! I've been looking for something similar, but I want a white one!
Beautiful!
Badhairday January 21st, 2005, 06:18 AM I'd happily pay for one of those - I don't have a clue how to crochet!
