I have a question for those of you w/hair like mine; fine and/or thin. I bought a barrette to put in my hair. One of the bigger ones to use for a pony in lieu of a scrunchie. The thing will only stay in place for a very short period of time. It keeps slipping down. I have to keep pulling it back up. Can anyone suggest a barrette that doesnt cost 3million dollars that will hold in fine/thin hair. I love the look of a pretty barrette and I don't know where to look or what to use. Thanks! Chrissy
BTW: My hair is bone straight too. I'm sure that plays a part.

I not have similar hair to yours but....

Have you tried your local Dollar Store, Dollar General, Kmart, or Walmart?

Most of thier hair toys are inepensive and you can trial and error without feeling like you lost a ton of cast

Hope this helps :)

I'm not a fan of barrettes at all (the ordinary metal ones that is) - they kill way too much hair that gets caught in the hinges and closure. They can look very pretty though, that's true ...

Have you tried using a hair coloured elastic first and then a barrette just above it? If the barrette decor is wider than the metal part it hides the elastic quite well.

I agree with Madeleine, metal barrettes were the first things I threw away when I began taking better care of my hair. I had a lot of breakage near the nape of my neck

I like the elastic ones too, they look like a barrette, but much better for you hair. I've also seen all plastic barrettes at places like Ulta that look pretty good.

I know that some metal barrettes are harmful but I have a few of these from Bryd designs and really like them
