I've been wearing bronze snoods (aka, bun covers) from http://bronzejewelers.com for about a year and a half, and I love them! I started out with the size 4, then traded up to the size 5, and I sent that one back last week for the BIGGEST size, the size 6. It arrived today, and I just love it (as usual!). The only problem is, my hair is only 24 inches long, and I've got a lot further to go, and I've already maxed out her sizes!! LOL! Maybe I need to ask Fran if she make a *size 7* just for me!!

I've been wanting one of their bronze snoods, but can't splurge that much right now. I'm also concerned about the size -- my bun is very large, so what if size 6 isn't big enough? How big is your hair when you bun it up? Just curious.

it's a lot of $$$ to find it doesn't fit.

My bun is really big, considering that my hair isn't even BS length. It's so thick that it makes a big bun. This pic is of my bun when my hair was only about 20 inches long:

Right now, at about 3 inches deep it's 5 inches across, if that makes sense.

Fran, the bronzesmith, has waist length hair (she's the lovely blonde in the pics on the website), and the size 6 works for her. I guess it just depends on how thick one's hair is! :-)

Well... my hair is pretty thick, so I guess I'll have to do some measuring and see if the size 6 will work.

I'll bet that bronze looks stunning with your red hair!! (Picture, picture, picture....)

Thanks for the advice!

DBF,

I just noticed that your hair is 46 inches long and type iii...I'm betting the size 6 isn't big enough for you!

Maybe we need to start a LHC petition of Bronze Jewelers...create some sizes 7, 8, and 9 for us!!

I would love to have one of those bronze snoods, but if I got a bigger one (above size 6), wouldn't it just look like a second head? LOL

I have one of those snoods but it's only a size four. It could actually stand to be a little bigger, but I don't think I need a size five yet. My hair is just about waist length, and it looks like a lot of hair until I put it up. Lots of hair, but it's fine.
And Tbear, my shoes are size six, does that count? :D

I am glad to hear that you wear yours so often and like it so well.
I have wanted one for about a year now and was just going to order one and went with a silver barrette instead.

Maybe after my pocket book rests for a bit I will go ahead and get that snood. They are beautiful.

I'll bet that you love your new snoods. The hair jewelry and regular jewelry look gorgeous on that site. Thank you for the link. I bookmarked it. :D

RBR, I hope you'll post photos soon! Did you say the #6 is 5 inches? The website says the #6 is 4.5 inches. Did you get a custom order?

I'm just waiting for my upgrade to a #5 (4.25 inches) from a #4 (4 inches) to arrive. The #4 was always a bit too tight and so I knew the next biggest size should have been my first snood. But I wasn't sure if I should upgrade to the #5 or the #6. The #6 sounded too big and with these I seem to have a fear of bigness and heaviness LOL. But I discussed this with Fran and she suggested I try a 'roomy' #5 (4.25 inches) so that is what I have coming now.

I find it a bit confusing that the numbers are style/model numbers, not size numbers. So Tbear, you can't be a 'size 6' but you might be able to be a #6! It's just a co-incidence the #4 is also 4 inches but that's the style/ model number.

Since they make these themselves I'm sure they can custom size them but what I'd be concerned about is what DBF said, that it would be like wearing a second head (BTW lol DBF).

I'm interested to hear how you like your upgrade RBR!!! (pictures, pictures!)

If you have a second head with the snood, would you still have one with the giant bun anyways? I mean, I know if I'm not careful about how I try to place a bun (when I can get my hair to stay in one) I can look funny with this giant ball sticking out the back of my head and my hair is only brastrap or so. (24.5 inches). Of, course, it is on the thicker side of things (between 4-5 inches ponytail circumference). Hmm, that's an awful lot of parentheses.

You've got a point, Athelyna (sp?). Sometimes I wonder if my bun is just too huge, but since I'm not good at any other updos.... I stick with it. :)

..that I am going to be giving Scandanavian Delights A LOT of business and that my bank account will be suffering for it. Let's see.. I have a birthday coming up, then an anniversary, then... Oh, sorry, I trailed off for a moment there...

Nitsa, did you order a ponytail cover or a barrette? I am wondering how well they stayed secured in the hair? Can you give a product review on these? :D Oooh I just can't wait to get my hands on one of these! Their rings and earrings were absolutely wonderful too, so wonderfully unique!

Yes, yes, great idea. Seriously, it would be in their best interest to at least consider larger sizes....

Hi Martine!

Sorry to be awhile getting back to you...I've been out of town since Friday morning and just got back this evening.

Those measurements were the size of my uncaged bun, not my bronze snood. My snood is indeed 4.5 inches across. It's great! I love it, love it, love it!!
