LisaJaney, don't read this!

With Eve's permission I am posting a letter with the links to her most beauitful hairpins. I have ordered 2 pins today and wanted to share this info with you.

Anne, thank you for posting the link to those hairpins!

Here goes the letter

Good morning Zoya, Here are some links to some of the hair sticks that I
have sold and have the wood available for your selection. The 3 prong will
be $12.99 and the 2 prong $10.99 for any of the species of wood you select.
I do not have any "all black" (Ebony) in stock right now. The Wenge below is
the darkest I have. Shipping will be $2.50 + optional insurance of $1.30,
within the United States. Thank you for your interest and have a good day,
Eve

Are those the Bloods-something or other hairforks that some others are talking about in other posts? I might need to have a serious look at these. I need to know the length, and thickness. Looking dreamily at the purpleheart . . .

Blondiesturn is the ebay name she sells under. I have one of her forks and LOVE it. It is very well made. Here is a link to her current items for sale:

Martine, my bloodwood fork is approximately 4mm thick, my bocote is approx. 5mm thick. Both taper slightly at the very top and of course, at the bottom where they taper to points. My bocote is 143mm long (I think it was described as approximately 5-1/2" on ebay); its teeth are approx. 107mm long. My bloodwood is 151mm long (it was listed as approx. 6" on ebay); its teeth are approx. 115mm long. (Chuckling, remembering how you measured your horn combs for me oh so long ago! :D )

When I first received the bloodwood I thought, "This isn't very thick. I hope it's sturdy enough!" It is! Both of my forks are soooooooo smooth. I am very pleased with them and plan to get more.

Hope that helps! And special thanks to TBear for posting the original link to Eve's forks! (I'm going broke, here. Stop it!! :D )

ACK! Sorry, Martine, I just saw your question in the post title (in that teeny tiny print!!) As far as I know, Eve does not have a website. She just started selling on ebay recently, after making them for friends and family for awhile.

What I did - I just e-mailed her. Here is her e-mail:blondiesturn@hotmail.com
She responded really fast and it was very nice.

Tresses, and zoya -- I'm absolutly sold on these already. Now to make a plan for deciding on which one(s) and ordering! And what a good price too :D

Tresses, thank you for all those measurements! I was particularly interested in the thickness because I just received my Maiden's Treasures hairforks and I was surprised they were thin, not thick which is what I expected.

The purpleheart with an Art Nouveau Lady is only 3mm in thickness. It feels quite strong and the dimensions and thinness make it look stunning. I was thinking these would be more chunky like the Ric's/Sierra Legacy anti-gravity hairpins. I didn't realize wood could be this thin!

Ric is the man who makes most of the hardwood combs you see us discuss. His URL is http://www.combmaker.com I have one of his combs and one of his hairforks. The "anti-gravity" is not a special gizmo or anything like that. It's just a 2 pronged hairfork. I found Blondiesturn's forks to be smoother. And her service is much better, too. I initially had good service from Ric, but subsequent contact with him left much to be desired. (It took me 8 months to get my comb back from him after I returned it for a repair. :x )

Just my two cents.
