Any suggestions on a good supplier? I'm shopping for Christmas for my best friend and she's starting to get into crochet as art. I want to get her some really exquisite yarns to play with..

I googled for recycled silk yarn, but I came across so many choices that I decided it would be safer to ask who's reliable first.

Also, if there are any other suggestions for really neat yarns for her to play with, please feel free to speak up. .

100% silk yarn, or a blend?

I've heard Himalaya brand is too unpredictable in gauge. (Review here (http://www.wiseneedle.com/yarndetail.asp?id=1478).) For crochet, it might be a little difficult to find patterns for yarns that aren't consistent in gauge.

Mango Moon Recycled Silk is supposed very good, but I've never tried it myself.

There's also yarn made of soy fibers (review here (http://www.knittersreview.com/article_yarn.asp?article=/review/product/031009_a.asp)) if you're looking for something a bit unusual.
