Hello, I am Don, and it is quite well known in the long hair community that I am highly supportive of beautiful gorgeous "healthy" hair at any length, and do not hesitate to compliment shorter haired women as well as those with long hair. Complimenting womens hair is something I do daily, and as some that are members here can attest, will not hestitate to interrupt phone conversations to deliver compliments. In my world it is more important to help play a part in boosting a woman’s self esteem and confidence by letting her know how terrific and beautiful her hair looks, and that indeed her hair is a flattering attribute and asset contributing to her overall appearance. I do not participate in long hair communities to brag or solicit.
My participation in the forums (much less as of late) is to "help" lend in creating a positive aspect and environment that helps those who desire to have beautiful gorgeous “healthy” hair learn how to achieve "their" goals and to “share” what I have learned in over 3 decades of long hair care. I have “lurked” on this forum from it’s inception under a previous user name as a registered member, the only difference now is that I misplaced my username and password information and decided to re-register. I “earned” the name “Junk Yard Dog” about ten years ago from Susan, a fun loving, long haired Lakota member of both this forum and TLHS because of my willingness to take a stand against the misogynistic droolers who have harassed and discouraged women from feeling comfortable about posting on public forums.
PS: The cats name in the cartoon is my buddy Hoody.
