Hello. I hate posting intros, as I always feel a bit silly ... kind of like "Ta da! It's ME!" But since I've been lurking here since July 2003 (embarrassing, but true) I thought it was about time.

I'd prefer to let myself be known gradually, through my posts, if that's okay. But as for the basics: I started at 17" in June 2003, and am currently at 23". I've had four GM treatments/trims during those 15 months. My hair type is 2b, normal ponytail thickness but fine (there's a lot of it).

My natural haircolor is a really ugly dark ash brown which I've highlighted for the past 15 years. However, I started going gray last year at an astonishing rate, and my silvery gray hairs clashed with my warmer highlights. My family (on both sides) goes silver gray, which I think is just beautiful, so I've gone natural since June. I'm probably about 30-40% gray right now. Unfortunately, my hair isn't particularly beautiful at the moment (it's a combination of graying roots with brassy looking ends), but I prefer to focus on the final result.

This seems like a really great community, and I hope I'll fit in.

Hi Tracy, welcome! I am another silver/white person. My 'other' colour is a mix of browns with a lot of red in it. I think it would be called chestnut maybe. My silver/white is all in front, mostly around my face, and depending on how it combs out looks like stripes sometimes, which can be pretty cool looking. I like the look, it used to look just like it was frosted.

So, welcome, glad you're here!

Welcome Tracie! :flower:

So glad you decided to de-lurk.
How do you like the GM treatments? Wow 4 of them so far? Tell me more. My dream day includes a trip to a GM salon. Can't wait. It'll be a long time before I catch up to your four tho. Did the first one make a difference?

Thanks for all the kind welcomes! I probably should had unlurked earlier, but I had a dial-up internet connection until recently. By the time all the pictures had loaded onto the page, I was ready for bed!

Renee, I've written a little more about my GM experience in the separate thread on Farlow's salon. I hope it helps.

Hello and welcome!!! :flower: You are brave! I've been wanting to grow out my white hair (been closing in on 35% for a while) but I'm afraid of the roots during the growing process. I thought it would be kinda cool to have my "wings" on like Paulie Walnuts though. Can't wait to see your hair 100% natural!
