Wend. I purchased some GM products when I had the "one hour" GM treatment donr.

I bought a package deal of the Cream Shampoo, Cream Rinse, 60 second conditioner and 12 minute conditioner. It appears that these products will last me for several monthes (which is a good thing!!).

1) Because I only wash my hair twice a week I wonder if the effects of the "one hour" treatment will last longer than the 3 monthes they say it will?

2) Those who use the GM products - are you pleased with them?

3) Do you stray from the instructions given on the bottle? Example the 12 minute conditioner should stay on your head for 12 minutes --- any one leave it on for longer (like I will probably try...) Or do you add oil to the conditioner? Or do you use the AVC rinse with the GM products?

4) During the GM treatment they roll you hair. Any one who has had this done --- Did you take notice or did they explain to you how they were rolling your hair? Some of the hair is rolled under and some over.
I actually looked at Avirilon's pics and was able to remember a little of it **kicking myself for not writing it down when she explained after I questioned her about it** I always roll my hair to make it straight and so the bottom 4 inches of perm doesn't appear. So I rolled my hair tonight trying to remember. It seems allot of it is rolled under, except the very bottom layer of hair and the bottom ends, which is rolled over the roller. Something about keeping the ends from rubbing on clothing, etc...

Also tonight I needed to finish off a roll of film so I attempted to take pictures of my hair. Hopefully I will a decent one to post and without the "wind blown" :silly: effect of the earlier pic.

Thanks for you suggestions.

When I was using GM exclusively, my bottles of goodies lasted from one treamtnt o the next (6 months or so!) So I'd say YES they last . . . and I shampooed every other day (maybe every 3rd).

2) Those who use the GM products - are you pleased with them?

I was VERY pleased with them. I found that with the Treatment, using the s/c for 6 months, another treatment, and 6 more months of use my hair was getting in better and better condition! The ends weren't nearly as light (compared with roots) and they had been. I think the ends were rehydrating!

I went "off" the GM stuff because my ends started getting R-E-A-L-L-Y dry! I think I finally figured out why. I was putting a LOT Of protein treatments on my hair and I was using a LOT of oil on my ends. Hind sight says I have to be careful with both of those for my hair.

I haven't gotten fully onto the GM wagon, again.

ABSOLUTELY! hahahahaahahahahahahaa I left the treatment on for as long as I ever would for any other conditioner. ;) The only thing I didn't leave on for very long was the Cream Rinse. It was the product I found most difficult to "like". BUT once I diluted it right before use, I LOVED the stuff!!!!! It is amazing how that dilution worked!!! :)

4) During the GM treatment they roll you hair. Any one who has had this done --- Did you take notice or did they explain to you how they were rolling your hair?

I have no attention to detail like which direction the hair is rolled. :( Sorry! I'd say Avrilon's photos is your best source! :)

Oh, goody, goody!!! More pictures!!!! :)

1) Because I only wash my hair twice a week I wonder if the effects of the "one hour" treatment will last longer than the 3 monthes they say it will? I began using the products in Feb so I can't say for sure. I think the ends do feel much better than before, even after 2 months. I want to keep doing the treatments to get my ends to be the same color as my scalp hair.

2) Those who use the GM products - are you pleased with them?Yep, I'm loving them. The shampoo cleanses well without using a lot. The creme rinse is good too, it provides the slip I need to comb it out. And the 12 min conditioner is really nice... maybe it's because it's one thing I do to pamper myself, but it does make a difference in my hair.

3) Do you stray from the instructions given on the bottle? Example the 12 minute conditioner should stay on your head for 12 minutes --- any one leave it on for longer (like I will probably try...) Or do you add oil to the conditioner? Or do you use the AVC rinse with the GM products?I keep to the instructions. Granted I'm not standing in the shower with a stopwatch, but I do look at the showerclock and time from there. 10 to 14 minutes is close enough for me.
I haven't added anything nor have I used my favorite ACV rinse. I wanted to test the GM thing without any deviations if possible.

4) During the GM treatment they roll you hair. Any one who has had this done --- Did you take notice or did they explain to you how they were rolling your hair? Oh gosh, I do remember Bill telling me that the hair is rolled differently. I think he rolled most of the hair over the roller, and then the bottom-most rollers were rolled with the hair under the roller. I do remember him saying it was to give that flip, and the reason for the flip was to prevent the hair from poking into you. The hair should flip away from you and thus avoid rubbing against you so much and split your ends.

I wash my hair about 2 to 3 times a week, and I noticed the effects of the treatment for about 2.5 months. that's not to say the effects were magically gone after that, but that's about how long I was walking around going "wow!!".

2) Those who use the GM products - are you pleased with them?

I love the creme rinse and shampoo, though I recently started diluting the shampoo and like it even more that way. I'm not terrible impressed with either conditioner. I actually almost never use the 12 minute (oddly makes my hair feel dry and brittle, maybe from the protein?) and the 60 sec is nice but not nearly moisturizing enough for my ends.

3) Do you stray from the instructions given on the bottle? Example the 12 minute conditioner should stay on your head for 12 minutes --- any one leave it on for longer (like I will probably try...) Or do you add oil to the conditioner? Or do you use the AVC rinse with the GM products?

I've mixed the 60 second one with other conditioners, and liked the results. and the only time I'll actually wash twice with the shampoo is if I haven't washed my hair in a week (rare) or if it's very well diluted. I slowly discovered that the shampoo is actually harsher than I initially thought. I've done ACV rinses while using GM stuff, and it seemed to go ok, but then, ACV rinses don't ever seem to benefit my hair that much.

nope, sorry, can't remember. but I'll pay attention during my next treamtent - in a few weeks.

also, I recommend using as little as possible of the products, and then working up. I find the less I use, the happier my hair is. the products I've had have lasted me about 7 months now, and I still have some left. my hair is about 3 inches past shoulder length....

1) Because I only wash my hair twice a week I wonder if the effects of the "one hour" treatment will last longer than the 3 monthes they say it will?

From what I understand, the treatment will last differing amounts of time depending on wash and wear, the type of hair, how well the treatment took, weather, etc. My first treatment lasted for 2-3 months and my second one lasted 4 months.

2) Those who use the GM products - are you pleased with them?

Yes, yes and triple yes! It took a little while to get used to them, but I use them exclusively now. I haven't needed to oil or deep treatm my hair since using them. I do oil my ends a bit during Santa Anas which are hot dry winds that last 2-3 days in my region.

3) Do you stray from the instructions given on the bottle? Example the 12 minute conditioner should stay on your head for 12 minutes --- any one leave it on for longer (like I will probably try...) Or do you add oil to the conditioner? Or do you use the AVC rinse with the GM products?

I don't know for sure if I follow the directions or not! I put a dab of 12 minute on my dry ends and canopy, then step into the shower to wet my hair. I then shampoo twice--the first time it doesn't lather. Then I rinse well and do either the 12 minute or the 1 minute. If I do the 12 minute I clean down my shower stall and then rinse when I'm done (don't know the time--my GM stylist told me it didn't need to be 12 minutes). If I use the 1 minute I just put it in my ponytail region, wait about a minute then rinse. Then I put a bit of cream rinse on the ponytail area and rinse with cold water. Rinse, rinse rinse.

I use the 12 minute conditioner about every 3rd washing and the 1 minute all the other times. My stylist told me to use it that often, but told my daughter who has undamaged hair to use the 12 minute about every 1-2 months.
Do not use ACV as it will take out the treatment. If you need to clarify it is recommended to use the blue shampoo. I don 't have it yet so I use a Suave clarifying shampoo. My stylist said to use the blue shampoo whenever the cream stops working, which for me, is about one washing every 2nd month.

And, btw, my daughter who has thick tailbone+ length hair and I have fairly thick waistlength hair have used the GM s/c exclusibely since early July 2002. We are just about finished with our first bottle of the cream shampoo and are only half way through the cream rinse and 1 minute conditioner. We are about 1/3 of the way through the 12 minute conditioner. So it lasts! We both wash our hair 1x per week, and scalp wash 1-2 times between.

4) During the GM treatment they roll you hair. Any one who has had this done --- Did you take notice or did they explain to you how they were rolling your hair?

I am sorry that I can't remember. It is explained in GM's book, but my copy is loaned out. I believe the top layers are all rolled under and the bottom layer is rolled up, but I could be wrong.

Wow - thank you, Everyone, for answering my GM questions. The answers I received were exactly what I was looking for.

I'm looking forward to using the GM products exclusively until my next GM appointment, hopefully around October.

 ***lalala --covering my ears so I'm not tempted by other "Great Product," "You've Got To Try It" products! lalala***

Regarding the rolling of hair -- I'm thinking about writing Gary, owner of Beverly Hills GM Salon, to see if he can tell me. I roll my hair every time I wash it (to get rid of the ends being permed look). I'll let every one know what he says.

Thanks everyone.
