View Full Version : Hairscroos/Ball Beauty/ Dogtowels are in!
LisaJaney August 28th, 2004, 07:04 AM They came in early this week, but I've been BURIED under sewing and chiropractor visits and then working at the restaurant....I honestly haven't even LOOKED at the scroos, but have sorted out the Ball stuff. I grabbed one dogtowel to try (they're kick-arse towels, girls, you're gonna LOVE them!) and today I plan to take the stuff-and-my-scale with me to work and get things boxed and weighed. Then, this evening and tomorrow, I will get the postage figured online, and be sending you totals Sunday. Whew!
Thanks, Ladies!
LJ
Jennifer August 28th, 2004, 07:05 AM Thanks LJ! :smooch:

LisaJaney August 28th, 2004, 01:48 PM Freakin' A. I'm such a spazz. I took the stuff to work today (and it was dead enough that I COULD have had time to work with it) and then left the list of how to GROUP it at home! I couldn't do a flippin' thing. So, I'll do it tonight.
Off to make biscuits and gravy for supper. Mmmmmm, love that gravy!

That sounds like something that would have happened over at my house! I am sorry to hear you have to do it tonight now though! :flowers: Thanks again for doing this for us!
NordicChick August 31st, 2004, 05:23 PM Did I read chiropractor? Wassup? Is your back hurting? Did I miss something with my infrequent visits here????
exclusively di September 2nd, 2004, 06:07 PM Woohoo!! They arrived today!! Thanks again Lisa!! Haven't tried the towel, I washed my hair this AM!!! Ah, but the Aquis was on the job.

Madeleine September 3rd, 2004, 01:32 AM Haven't tried the towel, I washed my hair this AM!!! Ah, but the Aquis was on the job.
Please let us know if the dog towels work as well as the Aquis since you can compare directly!
Jennifer September 3rd, 2004, 01:47 AM I got my scroos and dog towel! I will be trying the towel later this morning, tried the screws last night. They hold very well and were very easy to use. Thanks so much LJ!! :flower:

I washed this AM, was in a dreadful hurry, so I haven't compared but I DID try something!! I wrapped my hair in the Aquis, then took it out and wrapped it in the dog towel and it was VERY dry VERY quickly!!! It seemed to me that it did very well!! I really didn't have time to analyze but the short time my hair was in either one was remarkable!! I will use just the dog towel next time, but that won't be till Thursday most likely. They are made completely differently. The Aquis is much denser feeling, the dog towel sort of feels stretchy, it feels like a looser texture. It is a little larger than the Aquis that I have, which is good, mine isn't real large.
So, for a quick test run, I give it an A!!! :flowers:
LisaJaney September 5th, 2004, 06:46 PM Yes, Di is right: the Aquis is a heavier material than the dogtowel, and the Aquis doesn't stretch (the dog towel does have some stretch, about like a Tshirt or sweatshirt fabric would have) I think they both work very well. Considering that the Aquis is $17 and the dogtowel was $6.50, AND the dogtowel is nearly twice the size, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my dogtowels! (yes, that was plural)
We'll be doing another dogtowel order, I'm sure.
Tiffanie September 7th, 2004, 01:28 PM :inlove: I got my hair scroos today!! I had to try them out immediately, of course, and oh my goodness! I LOVE THEM! I've been relying on a ficcare innovation clip to hold up my regular cinnamon or infinity bun while my hair dries but I think that I've found the PERFECT hair toy to do the job! I have never really liked the open end (the end you pinch) sticking out of my updo, but the ficcare clips just hold so well that I've had to get over it, but NOW I have new toys to play with :) I can't wait to try these with an infinity bun!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, LISAJANEY!!! I so appreciate you putting this order together and working so hard on it. It was my first group order :) :flowers:
Lina September 7th, 2004, 04:55 PM I got my package safe and sound today! Thank you! :flowers:

Did I mention that I love them?
I'm going to try & use the doggy towel to plop with- woohoo!
Can't wait!
LiLi September 10th, 2004, 02:06 PM Got my scroos, wearing 'em now, and I love 'em, love 'em, love 'em. Thank you SOOO MUCH LJ! :flowers:
exclusively di September 10th, 2004, 04:10 PM Ok, sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday, I washed it but had a FULL day and very little time on the 'puter in the p.m.
The dog towel is quite different in texture as we already noted, softer but it soaks up the water. The size is pretty comparable to a regular bath towel size so it was a little easier to wrap the length of my hair into and then tuck into a turban whatever deal it is I do with it than the Aquis or a regular towel because it isn't as bulky as a towel, but is a little larger than the Aquis. I'm with LJ, especially when you figure in the cost difference, the dog towel is great. I like to leave my hair in the towel till quite dry, it makes it fluffier without having to blowdry and I wasn't fighting with it to stay in place on my head like I do a heavier towel. I don't think I have that problem with the Aquis either, but I wasn't analyzing it when I was using it, so I didn't really pay attention. I haven't had it a real long time either. That IS an issue with regular towels though, at least for me. Ummmm, did I leave anything out? Questions anyone?
Madeleine September 13th, 2004, 09:00 AM Thanks for the review, Di!
I just bought another microfiber towel locally (standard size though, that works fine for me) which seems to be similar to the dog towel material as you described it. Haven't tried it yet, but I hope it'll work as well as the Aquis.
omly September 13th, 2004, 03:42 PM Not only do I *love* my new towel but the hair scroos came in time for me to wear them to the local ren faire. More miraculous than how well they worked for me is the fact they stayed all day in my daughters hair. Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep a bun on a 5 year old? And it lasted all day! That is the best praise I can give.

So glad to be a help, you and this sight have been such a help to me, I'm glad to be able to do some little thing in return!
I hope the towel works wonderfully!!

kittenlegal September 15th, 2004, 09:59 PM Thank you Lisa Janey!
Yay!
Got them today.
Gaijin September 15th, 2004, 11:31 PM I got my package! The hairscroos are so comfy, I even slept with them in last night. It feels like I'm almost brushing my hair with the Denman 3-row, and the MP detangler is lovely. I tried out the towel and it is nice and soft, it took an hour and a half to dry my hair, when it normally takes 2 hours. Thanks so much.

I got my package!!! I wonder why it took so long, it hadn't been opened or inspected or anything, but usually stuff comes in one week. But anyway, thank you so much LisaJaney, I love everything. I got a chuckle when I saw the box though. I wonder what the mailman must have thought. "Sure has good pizza, this Godfather's Pizza, if it's worthwile to send from Idaho to Finland..." 8)
FlyBabyTina September 30th, 2004, 07:08 AM Just wondering, is there going to be another order for Hair Scroos anytime soon? Is there a website I could order them from myself? Or maybe a catalog? I want to show DH some more info about them... Thanks!
Price was $6.00 a pair, colors are black, silver and gold.... right???
LisaJaney September 30th, 2004, 10:53 AM Tina,
There's no website, she just sells to us in group orders out of the goodness of her heart. Your colors are right-on, and price is right-on, and I'll be doing another group order for them in November. Mid-to-late November.
HTH,
LJ
