Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks. Before that, I was briefly considering chopping my beyond tailbone length hair. I had taken about a foot off in the last 6 months, but was toying with the idea of going up to about shoulder length.

No WAY. WHAT on earth was I thinking?!!? Whew! Am I ever glad I found this board again during my moment of insanity.

Thanks to you, I am NOT feeling naked and miserable. I just needed some new styling ideas.... and to get serious about hair care.

You sent me on a Ficarre hunt..... lol..... and WOW! I absoplutely LOVE it! It's the best thing I've found to keep this mane under control. You taught me that long hair is NOT boring.

Yesterday I tried my first vinegar rinse....

I'm looking fwd to hanging out with my new long haired sisters and learning more... as I embrace these somewhat neglected excess of locks.

Welcome, Welcome!

So glad you made the right decision to keep your beautiful mane. Tailbone length certainly is a commendable accomplishment!
We love pictures, so post some photos if you can.

HI RENEE!!!

You are soooo lucky you found the board before you chopped :hatchet: I was not as fortunate, chopped to my shoulders and I am now on the regrowth plan and at BSL.

Vinegar Rinses are great as well as CO washing baking soda scrubs, brownsugar scrubs and chamomile rinses. And today I tried honey in my conditioner and a oil-n-egg pre-wash treatment

What do you use on your hair? What is your usual routine? Can we see a picture? Tell us more, Please?

Thanks for the welcomes! I'll try to get some pics and post them as soon as I figure out how. Shouldn't be a problem, but don't think my arms are long enough so I'll probably need to find a photographer (DH will do).

Irishred~ oh noooo..... sounds like you regret chopping, but it also sounds like you're already making progress once again? You asked about my routine..... well.... let's see.... I've used ROP (Robert of Philadelphia) poo & cond for about 15 yrs.
http://www.ropsalons.com/splash.htm

I occasionally alternate now w/ Monoi shampoo and occ use the Monoi oil, but it ends up so terribly greasy. It smells so wonderful that I always over do it LOL. I had been wearing it down a lot..... but then it got past toilet length....ha!!

I was wearing a low bun most of the time when wearing it up.... and had trouble getting it to stay.with Mia Fa sticks, or other screws and things...tho I've used them for years. The Ficarre has solved that problem! WoooHooooo.

My order just came today for the large Mason Pearson bbb... and rake. Hopefully I'll like it.... but it sure doesn't "look" like a $195.00 brush. Yikes.

Oh.... another thing I use is VCO.... virgin coconut oil..... and have converted to cooking most everything with it or the unflavored EPCO. Again.... hard to wash out after hair tx.
but healthy.....

Thanks again for the welcomes. I feel at home already.
