Click here to read a heartwarming story about a pet rooster (http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=12579054&BRD=1078&PAG=461&dept_id=151025&rfi=6)
I waited until LisaJaney returned from vacation because she, in particular, should like this story. You won't believe the ending. You thought the Village had twists!!!

Awwwww, thanks for waiting for me, Jaynyne!! That was adorable! I've had vermin get into my coop (skunks, dreadful creatures, it's a messy scene when they get in) and kill my birds, and the story's right: they WON'T sleep in there! We spent the next 2 weeks gathering adult birds from trees/garage/etc and carrying them to bed and locking them in....and we did it every night. What a pain. After a coupla weeks, they are okay with it, but I can well imagine their horror, poor little things.
That was absolutely sweet, and I'll be sure to tell the kids about it; they'll like it, too.
(Just had a dream this morning as I was waking up, about having more baby chicks.....oh how I love those little puffballs)

I had a pet hen named Henrietta Cluck when I was younger. This story brought back the sweet memory. Darn hen thought she was a rooster!
