View Full Version : *My* new cutie....kitten!

My cousin called me frantic the other day. A couple of weeks ago someone dumped 3 kittens at her house. She had been feeding them and I think had decided to keep them for her daughter. But they were very skittish and my cousin was having a hard time taming them.

Then, the neighbors dog attacked one of the kittens. Right in front of my cousin and her daughter (who is 10). They had to rush the kitten to the vet but nothing could be done and the kitten was euthanised. The next day a second kitten was missing and did not return to eat that afternoon.

She called me (the local stray rescue lady  ) and asked if I would give her a cage to take the remaining kitten to the pound. I couldn't stand the thought as the local shelter euthanises about 85-90% of animals taken in. So I volunteered to take the kitten and find it a home.

He is gray and very sweet. Only took about 1 day of petting and getting scritches to get him to come around. Now you almost can't get rid of him......

Here is a pic. Isn't he a cutie?? He doesn't have a name as I am trying not to keep him. My housecat is in hiding and only comes out long enought to hiss and spit at him. She is ticked!

I also took a pic of my big, scary doberman and my daughter. It is too cute to leave out so I'll post it here for you guys to see!

Oh I LOVE the pics!!! You know,---the other cat may be pissed now, BUT, they can adjust to each other---(hint,hint). I speak from experience. The kitten is precious. That was very kind of you to "foster" him while you *try* to place him. Its so easy to fall in love, isn't it? The world needs more people like you. Good luck--

If I lived closer, didn't have a child, and DH agreed to another cat, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I LOVE grey kitties! :cloud9: :inlove:

Thanks everyone. He's a cutie and he knows it. The older cat has come out but still hisses and spits everytime she sees him....but she'll get over it!

This morning hubby admitted that he likes the kitten. But is trying not to.... Last night the kitten slept on our bed. The first night he's been allowed to stay out in the house. He did great and knows where the litterbox is so he has the run of the house now.

Just a few more pics. He still doesn't have a name...but I'm not sure that will matter....

Aww he is absolutely adorable. My husband and I are looking for a playmate for our kitty, I would take him off your hands but my current kitty has Feluk and it wouldn't be good for him since it's very contagious, so we need a kitty that already has it. :( He is very cute and I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding a home for him. I love the sleeping picture.

The kitten is absolutely beautiful...and so is your daughter! That doberman looks like a big teddy bear  .

(Secretly hoping you keep the kitty; you know you want to! )
