HI Anne,

I tried your 7-drops-of-jojoba-in-a-gallon-of-water recipe on Saturday night, and it worked great! I CO wash, but lately have needed a little something to help me detangle afterwards. I didn't have an empty gallon bottle, so I just used a big, plastic bowl, dropped in the 7 drops ahead of time, then when I was ready to use the rinse, I held the bowl over the shower head till it was full, whisking the oil in with my hand (and freezing in the mean time), then dumped it all over my head, bending forward from the waist. Next time I'll prepare better and use a gallon water bottle. This was like a sudden waterfall over the head, but it still worked.

I have never had any success before in using oil on my hair, but mixed in with all that warm water, it seemed to disappear into my hair, just like you said. NOTHING felt oily. Then at comb out, my hair was much smoother and easier to handle, but not a bit oily. Today my hair still feels and looks great, still not oily. I might try 8 drops next time.

Thanks! Unless this starts to build up on my hair or something, this will be a keeper!

That's great! I'm so glad it worked for you!

I had to cut back on it because I was breaking out a little around my hair line, but it's something I'll keep doing from time to time. I keep the bottle of jojoba oil just outside the shower so I can reach for it if I feel like it and the gallon jug....well... :D as ugly as it is, it has to stay, that's how I condition all the time. I mix my conditioner with water every time I put it on, it really distributes the conditioner to ALL the hair, not just the top and comb out is a breeze with the water/conditioner mix method.

I'm so glad it worked for you and thanks for letting me know :D

How much conditioner per gallon of water do you usually do? That sounds like a useful method...

Cheers,

Well I haven't actually measured, I use Mastey and it has a pump, I pump 4 squirts in the jug, then I pour a little warm water in and shake to liquify the conditioner and then I fill it all the way up and pour slowly over my head and concentrate the last 3/4 on the length.

Like you noticed with the jojoba rinse, the more water you use, the better the distribution and it really gets all of the hair and no tangles! :D

I've been doing this for two years now and it really works for me.
