My two dogs are suffering with hip
muscle loss and my vet suggested we
put them on glusocomines and condriotins
(I'm familiar with those from the horses!)
I currently feel Pedigree dry food and was
wondering if anyone has experiences with
adult dry feeds that contain extra glucosomines,
etc..not sure which one to try...Our one dog is
sensitive to changes in feed so I'll have to do it
gradually....that's why I also don't want to have to
do it TOO many time either!!!

Our older lab has arthritis, and we give her glucosamine/chondroitin in a pill form. She inhales it with the rest of her food (she's a bit of a glutton) and never seems to even notice it. I've never found a feed that had glucosamine in it...if they make them, they're probably rather expensive. We just buy the cheap glucosamine pills for people at WalMart. It's the same thing as what they give animals, and it's easier to get. Hope that helps!

I think you best bet is buying the full strength for people, get thee a mortar and pestel, put in a small amount of Vit C for absorption and grinde - put that in their food. The reason we started doing this is because it is now cheaper to use the human for dogs than vice versa and the pill form can be very upsetting to stomaches if you don't pulvarize it. We also give BDog MSM powder form ... good luck ...g
