If I rearrange the desk, I have to make sure there is room for both my work and the cat.

Lexy June 24th, 2004, 11:24 AM Lol!!! Last night my sister came to visit. She watched me run around putting the kids to bed. Finally I sat down to actually talk to her, and 2 cats and a dog came running up to sit on me and nuzzle my hands and stand on my shoulders. I tried to send Flash over to my sister, but she had to have ME scratch her belly, darnit!
Heidi June 24th, 2004, 11:33 AM Once upon a time I had cable and a little compact cable box on top of my television. It was very warm and that's where my kitty liked to sleep. I remember watching television one evening with my then-boyfriend and saying in all seriousness, "I think I'm going to get a bigger cable box for Frankie" My boyfriend thought I was nuts.

Obivously he was no fun :shake:
nastasska June 24th, 2004, 12:08 PM I have become so used to sleeping on the edge of the bed so my doggie can have the middle that now I actually am not comfortable unless I am curled up on the edge of the bed  I have not had any food all to my self since I was eight :cookie: Misy has lately taken a real liking to conflakes :wethree:
Mariah June 24th, 2004, 12:16 PM Last night I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me because I was uncomfortable, but I didn't want to move because Tibbald was curled up using my leg as a pillow..:shake:
Luckily, even though I often have to share (especially yogurt, my boy has a yogurt fetish and will eat half the container!) the cats don't eat too much of whatever it is...but they do eat the strangest things - like lettuce

Here too!!! Our cat Hyde loves corn - preferably on the cob. I always have to make enough for him, or he'll go as far as to steal it off someone's plate. Hyde also begs for tortellini pasta & sweet potato.
Crazy kitties!

Teacherbear June 24th, 2004, 03:33 PM I have to do the same thing, Cheryl (reserve a spot behind the monitor for the kitty to sleep) and I have to stop typing when he decides it is time to get in my lap. Gaby likes to drape his tail over my wrist while I type OR he likes to stand/lean in my lap, leaning on my belly, with his kitty-butt on my left forearm, and his chest leaning on my right forearm. He is sandwiched in on 3 sides. I've also become quite proficient at typing without seeing the keyboard OR monitor, when the need arises. You can NOT disturb a snuggling kitty!
JaguarGirl June 24th, 2004, 09:55 PM My two goats would be jealous..They are barred from the house when I found them on top of my dining room table and STOVE.
They are not allowed in the house to get hugs anymore..now the stay on top of my SUV!
I remember going to work last week..and i found them BOTH inside my truck..in the backseat..sleeping. I leave my windows down all the time...so they must have jumped in. it wasn't hot or anything..just raining.

Yeah what's the deal with potatos? Mine will go NUTS if I'm peeling potatos and don't give them some of the peels...I can't imagine cats snacking on potatos in the wild  and pasta's the other one...
National Geographic Episode # 35
Narrator: And as we watch, sheba, the eldest female of the pride, quietly approaches her prey. She waits, taking in her surroundings. Watch as she coils herself, readying to spring, every muscle taunt...and she attacks! The unsuspecting pasta wavers slightly, before completely surrendering to her powerful jaws, falling into a pool of its own marinara sauce. But so is the cycle of life, here in the unforgiving savannah...

P.S. I think potatoes in any form are kitty-crack...catnip in disguise!

It's not just cats. My dog Abby LOVES potatos. Baked, mashed, french fries, it doesn't matter, she just loves spuds. :silly:
Butters June 25th, 2004, 10:02 AM Butters loves Bananas. One day I was watching Tv and eating a banana. While Butters was sitting next to me chewing on a bone. I sat my banana down next to me and whatever I was watching mustve been pretty interesting. I reached over for my banana and it was gone. Instead there was a nasty chewed on bone where it used to be. Butters had "traded" me. He was on the other side of the room snacking away. I didnt have the heart to take it away from him. :cloud9:
Now whenever I get bananas I always have to get enough for him to. A few days ago I gave him a piece and then I tossed our other dog snoopy a piece. He promptly spat it out like it was the most disgusting thing ever.
Igor June 25th, 2004, 10:34 AM I had to place everything in the exact same place on the tables because my lovebird Bølle was blind and he would feel his way with his feet and would be lost if everything wasn’t in the right place
I miss the little guy
Meezer June 25th, 2004, 12:49 PM MmmmHmmm!
We have a gorgeous, lighted, built-in niche that should hold some fancy piece of sculptured art.... but, our kitten has taken it over!!
It's up pretty high in the wall and it takes all his might to reach it, but he manages to do so. We now call this niche his "stage". He sits right on in there and grooms...and looks at us with his big blue eyes. I told DH last night that I'll have to put something up on the 'walls' of the niche to at least decorate it... and then I though that maybe I could lay a pretty 'pad' on the base so that the kitten has something to lay on. Could he be MORE spoiled??

Oh! I'm sorry your little lovebird is gone! But that was very sweet of you to accommodate his blindness by making everything familar for him! :flowers: it must be very hard to be a bird and blind...

Thank you :inlove:
He was just such a wonderful little, old bird. He was so loving and happy all the time- even people who were afraid of birds would have him sleeping in their hands after a few minutes
He was tamer than most dogs! Sometimes when he wanted someone to pet him, he would just crawl from their shoulder and down on their chest and twirp to get attention. He was the smartest bird Ive ever met- I even thought him not to poop on people, so when he had to go, he would call for attention, so you could take him to somewhere he was allowed to do his business, and tell him “Poop, Bølle” and he would do it. Then he was very proud of himself
I’m just glad he went blind slowly, so he had a chance to adjust to being more and more helpless and depended on his family to help him.
Isn’t he cute? He is completely blind in this photo, so he’s listening and wondering why his mommy’s friend is making clicking sounds (he’s drinking lemonade- spoiled little bird)

Mariah June 29th, 2004, 03:16 PM That is sweet!! I don't like birds (I've been bitten too many times!!) but maybe I wouldn't have minded your little Bolle!! he does sound very smart...and he was lucky to have such a loving family to take care of him once he lost his sight!

He never did bite. He was very well trained and well behaved :rockerdud
Not even at his first routine visit at the wet did he bite, not even when he turned him upside down and started to part his feathers to look at his butt! (I think they check for parasites and such that way)
Bølle just shook his head in the air, tried to look dangerous and screamed bird-language obscenities at the wet
The wet was very surprised he could have checked him without gloves and told me he had seen family dogs less well behaved than him :rockerdud
I was so proud of my little bird :inlove:
Kat July 7th, 2004, 07:53 AM AWWWW, Igor, what a sweet little guy!
My kitty Pouncie isn't into potatoes (though I guess I've never asked her). But she DOES like many things that come in cans--green beans, peas, corn, cream corn. And she likes butterscotch pudding and tapioca pudding...and also ice cream--at least, when we get caramel sundaes from McDonald's, my mom will sometimes give her the last of the liquid stuff at the bottom and she likes it (doesn't seem to like the caramel though). I tried to get her to eat some watermelon I dropped the other day (oh, all right, I didn't want to have to pick it up), but she wouldn't touch it.
Grey_Lady July 7th, 2004, 11:21 AM I've started leaving my reading light on when I sleep. My dog has cataracts and is almost blind. The vet says she can see light and rough shapes. It tends to freak her out when it's totally dark and she can't see anything, so the light helps calm her down.
