I decided it was time Tiki had her own thread.

Tiki is our 9 week old American Staffordshire Terrier puppy. We've had her for about two weeks now.

She is very intelligent and just a joy to have.

Here's her other thread, in which I talk about how we decided to get her...

So without further ado here are more pictures!

Here's Tiki today at 9 weeks

And here's her and one of her brothers, Angus. As you can she she is an Alpha female

And last, but not least, Roxy, her mother, climbing the pepper tree in our yard to get her rope toy. Just a reminder of what we're looking forward to, I guess!!!

SGrace - she is a doll. Absolutely deserving of her own thread.

And I must say - Angus looks like a cutie-patootie too. Love his color.

Thanks for the new pics.

So cute! I love looking back at pictures of my cats when they were kittens, we brought them both home at Tiki's age. They grow so fast, it's amazing to look back, a year later, and remember that Mona was once barely taller than our vaccum cleaner.

Sure, Gabi, here's a picture of me holding her, so you can get an idea of her size

She is the smallest of the litter of 10 puppies.

Thanks everyone for your comments. We think she is pretty neat. Well worth the effort.

ETA: Anna what a cute kitty! Great picture!

She is so cute! When my dog, Suki, was a little smaller than that I would take her to the post office with me. She is now almost half my size so we don't get out as much as we used to!!!

 AmStaffs will do anything for a toy they want to play with. The pepper tree is has a gently sloping trunk and she just ran right up it!

Here's some new pictures of Tiki, at 10 weeks old. This time she's hanging out with another one of her brothers, Blue.
They're in a tent we set up in the backyard to get Tiki used to camping stuff. As in, don't chew the tent, puppy.

They're being good pups in these pictures and playing with the rope toy together. I love her! :cloud9:

We realized a funny thing about Tiki. You can kind of see it in the bottom picture. She has two different ears. One is perky and the other is floppy. Oddly enough, her brother Angus has 2 floppy ears and Blue has 2 perky ears. Does anyone else have a dog like this?? It really adds to her character.

Tiki is 12 weeks old today and here's a current picture.

She continues to grow and delight us. She has lots of friends she visits, including a Rottweiler and a Chihuahua!

Her silly ears continue to amaze me.

Awww! She just gets cuter and cuter! I love her facial expression (AmStaffs and other pit bull types seem to me to have unusually expressive doggy faces - so cute!).

Yes, we love her more and more each day.

She's hardly a puppy anymore, we call her a little dog now.

She is doing quite well with obedience. She still does not some reliably when called (!) but will sit, lie down, and back up on command. We are working on stay. She responds quickly to "NO!". She also does pretty well with "settle down".

One of the cats ignores her most of the time, the other one has developed a wrestling play style where they actually do play bite each other. Sometimes Tiki gets a bit too rough but is learning to "give kisses" meaning lick the kitty instead of biting him.

Her housebreaking has gone really well, she has had a total of about 7 accidents in the house and three in her crate, all our fault of course, we were away from the house for too long. Unless she is really excited she will go to the door to be let out. She sleeps through the night in her crate. We usually let her fall asleep on the couch watching TV with us.

She also has really good manners when we go visiting other people's homes and her dog friends. We've figured out that as long as she has a chew toy she'll go to sleep on the couch no problem, even while we eat dinner or something like that. Yes, we've decided to let her on our furniture (how could you resist that face?) and I guess will work on keeping her off of our host's couches later .

Hee Hee - the "coming reliably" is always the nemesis. Boy Dog can handle almost anything but prong horned antelope

The one place we take our guys most often we have just started taking along quilts to throw over the couches - it's easy and no one worries :silly: ...g
